Just finished watching episode. Came here again to try another friggin fabulous recipe. Thanks for making these, they're stylish and succinct. I know you know who won already and we don't, but dude, you're absolutely killing it. I know you won, you can tell me, bro. 😂 Seriously, thanks though. Love and look forward to these vids.
Sooooo… no ones gonna say anything bout that sneaky hair (4:19) at the end during the tasting part? No one? Looked totally yum (for me) til that moment (Hair in my food? Nope!!!!!)… still looked YUM though:)!
#teamshota for the win! You can see that everyone loved your dish! And being the first one they tasted, I guess no one could have surpassed the level of your dish! Amazing!! 😍
Cheese is my favorite food above all else! So happy you crushed that challenge! Thanks for sharing your techniques with these videos! I also love how Dodger licked the counter!
Now that you see your steps your dish was well thought... and the cheese is truly transformed but still keeping the flavor and integrity. I don’t even know you even you conceptualize something like mind blown🤯
I’m so happy you’re sharing the dishes you made on the show! Before I knew you made these videos I was so sad when I was watching the show because I thought I’d never be able to try them! 😆
Shota, these videos are awesome, thank you so much for making them. I always thought Japanese food was this completely daunting and obscure style of cuisine, but your videos do a great job of breaking down the process. You're an inspiration man, please keep these coming after Top Chef ends, would love to see more.
This was outstanding, so innovative and I loved the moment when it was completely silent as everyone cautioned a taste, then the judges all sighed happily into their dishes and started raving!! Congrats Chef
Whatever happens next week in the final episode...please continue to teach us your way of cooking. Honestly, Top Chef has become less about who wins the game and more about what we can learn from you about honoring and elevating the food. (Pulling for you to win the $250,000 and various accolades, but you have already won us.)
Shota, we love you. These videos are amazing. I wish we saw more of you though. We are big fans of your food but we huge fans of you. Tell us how you are doing!
Me too Kiran! Shota killedit last night! I also voted twice for him as fan favorite. Go Shota! I love cheddar cheese and have just been using it for sandwiches (lame). I was so blown away last night.
found your channel after top chef! love the content, but your amazing cooking deserves better editing and camera work! :) Glad to have you rep Seattle!
Congratulations, Chef Shota, for winning the cheese challenge!! Yay! It looks super yummy. But do you worry about heated plastic and plastic leaching into the food? I hope you win Top Chef!! Thanks for making all of these great videos.
Was curious about what went into your manju during the episode, and glad you showed it here! But is that a piece of hair in it, at 04:20? Maybe that’s your secret ingredient, haha! J/K! That cheese crisp looks super delicious! #teamshota
I love seeing the $10,000 written in your notes! Congrats on the win, well deserved!

Loved the dish. Way to pull off a Japanese dish with a very different ingredient.
Nice win! Dodger looked worried for a second as if he wouldn’t get a taste. But he knows his daddy wouldn’t do that to him.
Shota, we love you. These videos are amazing. I wish we saw more of you though. We are big fans of your food but we huge fans of you. Tell us how you are doing!
Been rooting for you since the start! Have a sneaking suspicion that you'll be the top chef! Plus its so cool you breakdown your recipes here!

Wow. How did you come up with this dish. Just wow. And how did you get all this work done in the time they gave you. Holy smokes.
Congratulations Mr Finalist!!!🥂👏👏
That’s wild. I don’t know how you came up with that!
Congratulations, Chef Shota, for winning the cheese challenge!! Yay! It looks super yummy. But do you worry about heated plastic and plastic leaching into the food? I hope you win Top Chef!! Thanks for making all of these great videos.
Shota was on the next iron chef with Stephanie Nyesha and Sarah from top chef. He was the youngest contestant there
Did you do a vegetarian dashi with this recipe?
Was curious about what went into your manju during the episode, and glad you showed it here! But is that a piece of hair in it, at 04:20? Maybe that’s your secret ingredient, haha! J/K! That cheese crisp looks super delicious! #teamshota
I spotted that, too. I still wouldn't send it back to the kitchen lol
You are amazing
Man you really don’t see all that goes into this on the show, this is nuts
Not really the dish for me because I really don't like cheese, but the plating looked beautiful! Time to see if I can find any Manjyu in Seattle!
Fancy cheezit looking thing 😆👌🏼
Beep boop boop haven't seen the episode yet but I'm here!
Can you share what brand of mirin you use or would recommend?
I’m not sure what the brand is called but it has some alcohol content compared to the flavored sweet stuff they sell at major grocery stores
@@chefshota you are so cool I made you an Iron chef in one pf my iron chef series
Cheese god
