    The Mud 452 is really cool.

      It is. There’s a few like that though. Under the radar, well priced, light, dual sport newcomers.

    Under 6500€ in Italy and Spain, and arriving in 25’ spring. That said from Mondail guys yesterday at Eicma.

      For the Mud 452? That sounds about the same price as the 450MT (in the UK) good work. Thank you.

    Info for the Mud 452: All Mondial 450 Models use the CF-Moto 450 Engine with slightly different higher rev tune at a cost of a little bit of torque to reach the 48 HP and EU5+. Suspension on the Mud comes from Kove. Both brands work together. Kove was involved in the design process. Other spec for this model: 890mm Seat Height, 260mm/270mm Supension Travel, 264mm Ground Clearance, 17.5L Tank Rally style side mounted, Mondial says 175kg (always doubt weight figures), sadly 150/70-18 rear tire (would love to have 140/80-18 in the papers), Wheels are tubless.
    So it's basically a CF Moto 450 MT with higher Spec Suspension, much more ground clearance and travel and of course higher seat height. Doubt it will be much lighter. Good long distance Enduro / TeT Bike, not a Kove 450 Rally clone. I love it. Will be the successor of my Voge 300 Rally.

      Thanks for all that. Very useful! You might also want to look up the Rieju Aventura Rally 307. I had a good look at it today. I'm 105kg and the fully adjustable suspension seemed up to the task and plush. Big fuel tank. Comes with Michelin enduro tyres... A lot to like there. Probably cheaper than the alternatives too.

      @@PeakMotorcycles that's a nice tip. Thank you. Since the 500 adventura i don't hear much from Rieju and this was a heavy humper. The 307 looks sharp... and it has the voge 300 engine. dont even hide it. Nice looking suspension indeed. I will check it out. Seems all chinese brands swap engine which each other. Love it.
      I am just happy the small capacity market finally gets more and more crowded with capable enduros and adventure bikes. Not just street bike in adv trim. The boring days of Honda 250 rally and nothing else are finally over. Great days ahead. And that mostly thanks to Chinese brands. Who would have thought.

      That's good information thank you a bike I would seriously consider I have seen an mt450 and it looks small and possibly cramped for me...mate has a kove but it's a bit too off-road focused this mondial looks perfect somewhere in-between

      Great bike, it looks fantastic in person! Tried CF450 MT last week and it seems too heavier for a rally bike, hope this one has more rally character.
      Why do you say would love to have 140/80-18 in papers?
      Thanks a lot!

    I always thought Mondial produced really good looking bikes that were very stylish, the 452 Mud is certainly a stylish mid range adventure bike and if it arrives in the UK and retails at under £5K I am sure it will sell very well indeed.

    Those 2 rally bikes look great. Question about the engine though, you said they have the 450cc twin, is this the same as the CF Moto 450 twin?, or is it coming from a totally different factory?

    • @crashtestdummy72
      @crashtestdummy72 3 місяці тому +1

      I did a screen shot of the engine and looked at if side by side with the cf moto. Looks pretty identical to me.

    • @peakrider4886
      @peakrider4886 3 місяці тому

      @ it seems pretty convenient that these bikes originate from China and have the same capacity and design of engine. I expect they roll off of the same production line with different side cases on.

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  3 місяці тому +1

      For the 125's and 250's at least, the F.B. Mondial engines are made by Piaggio in China, but I'm not sure they do a parallel twin. The numbers are very similar (can't find bore and stroke) to the CFMoto 450MT. If it is the same at least I could buy my filters in bulk! I'll see if I can find out the origin, but it seems likely that it's the CFMoto unit doesn't it.

    • @lucke1022
      @lucke1022 3 місяці тому +2

      It's the cf moto engine. bore and stroke is the same too. Only higher ref tune. 48HP@10.000rpm in comparison to 42HP@8500rpm (450MT). At the cost of bit torque. Chinese manufacture swap engines with each other all the time. Nearly every 500cc twin is from Loncin where every 650 is a CF-Moto. 300cc here seems also the Loncin Motor like in the Voge 300 Rally. My guess is there will be poping up a lot 450 bikes from chinese brands in the future.

    • @lucke1022
      @lucke1022 3 місяці тому +1

      Must correct me here. The 300 is actually Piaggio build, not Loncin. It's just a development of their 250 engines that was not EUR5+ compliant anymore. Many solving this with enlarge the bore. The 450 is still CF-Moto though.

    The rallies are very good looking. Classic yet modern design. Only the big vertical tft spoils it.

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  3 місяці тому +1

      I guess they are inspired by the vertical TFT on the T7?

    • @constantinosschinas4503
      @constantinosschinas4503 3 місяці тому

      @PeakMotorcycles Yeah it is the rally trend in general. Now that we landed into the rally world, tft dashes may as well be rotatable and adjustable in height. Even removable, like they are in some cases.

    Any info on when the smx will hit the dealers? Would love to get one but can’t believe how little info there is to find online.

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  2 місяці тому +1

      It’ll come down to each countries importers and interest from dealers. If you have a FBM dealer, ask them to ask the importer. That might prompt some action.

      Problem ist MSA als Importeur. Furchtbarer Laden. Die ruinieren ja auch schon Voge als Marke. Halten europaweit populäre Modelle wie die 525 DSX zurück damit sie noch die alten Modelle verhökern können. Teile-Versorgung klappt übers Ausland viel schneller und günstiger (MotoX zb). Dazu nur inkompetente Rollerhändler, da der Hauptmarkt von MSA Kymco ist. Ich habe für Mondial gleich ein Händler in Südtirol, der Deutschsprachig ist, rausgesucht und werde einfach eine Mud selbst importieren.
      Am Ende spart man noch ein wenig da 22% MwSt. Italien gegenüber unser 19%. EU Selbstimport und Anmelden von Neufahrzeugen ist ja so einfach wie hier DE ein Fahrzeug kaufen. Zoll oder sonstiges zahlt man nicht nur die MwSt. beim Finanzamt. Das Garantierecht ist jedoch immer eine Sache bzw. muss man für Garantieansprüche vielleicht sogar zurück zum Kaufhändler. Da ich eh immer selbst Wartung mache, ist mir das relativ egal. Mein Händler hat meine aktuelle Voge seit dem Kauf nicht mehr gesehen und die Garantie ist inzw durch.

      I saw the Rieju Ventura Rally 307 today too... very interesting. It's a 293cc but comes with good, adjustable suspension as stock and michelin enduro tyres with a 20.5l fuel tank and weighs less than a CRF300 Rally.... Costs 30% less too. I guess they don't shout about it so not many know. I will see what I can do about that!

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  3 місяці тому

    Still dont get why these are so heavy, an XR650L wieghs less than 160kg.

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  3 місяці тому +1

      Air cooling is a lot lighter than water cooled. No pipes, no pumps, no radiators, no fluids. Also no ABS wiring, controllers or extra brake lines. Does it have a catalytic converter and an emissions compliant silencer? Not sure what that all adds up to, but perhaps you’d also need a bigger alternator to run the extra electrics? All that adds weight I guess. I’m sure they would make bikes lighter if they could. There’s also the A2 licence restriction which limits bikes to 0.26kg/hp which doesn’t help.

    • @skaraborgcraft
      @skaraborgcraft 3 місяці тому

      @@PeakMotorcycles I was unaware the A2 had a power to weight component. That would completely outlaw something like an old Yamaha 350 power valve 2-stroke. As for the rest, you are correct, it all adds up.

    • @lucke1022
      @lucke1022 3 місяці тому

      1 Cylinder vs. 2 Cylinder? Of course, it's much heavier. Plus all the electronics, the 2x cats, senors, ABS/TC even thinks like switches for the dash. You really can't compare old bikes with the new ones. I think most companies do what they can to keep the weight down.

    • @skaraborgcraft
      @skaraborgcraft 3 місяці тому

      @@lucke1022 I dont think that 300 is a twin. And i see no advantage in electronics improving a ride.

    • @lucke1022
      @lucke1022 3 місяці тому

      @@skaraborgcraftI thought you're talking about the mud 452. The 300 is build like a tourer with lots of stuff on. It's too heavy for a 300, sure. Electronics are mandatory. Don't need much on an bike, but ABS on the street is a must.
