A tip I have discovered for any board game that doesn't lay flat is to flip the board over & very gently stretch the game along the spine that is causing the problem. The key is to do it gently so that there is no damage done to the joint. You sometimes have to do it more than once in order to get the right amount of "give" that then allows the board to sit flat on your game surface. Now I'll check out your top games for 2-8 year olds to see about getting some board games to play w/ our grandchilden!

It really depends on the kid! But Outfoxed is a can't miss for that age. Besides that I'd say Dragomino, Orangutwang, and one of the Peaceable Kingdom games like Race for the Treasure or Hoot Owl Hoot. Labyrinth Junior is a solid choice too. My 4 year old loves it! I also have top 10 lists for ages 2-8 if you want to check those out for more info on games for these ages!
