      normally i'd say on hard medvedev is going to beat alcaraz if both play close to their best considering their gamestyle. but right now, medvedev is struggling a bit and alcaraz is tougher mentally. so on this encounter i see alcaraz pulling through.

    Tiafoe shows his growing maturity and mental game in these past big tournaments, a great pleasure to see him mature in the court. Medvedev’s just a complete stoic wall, the guy’s just amazing. Sinner’s reaching little by little a great status and he mostly wins every match against normal players but against Alcaraz… I don’t know. and Alcaraz’s just a reincarnation of the gods of tennis, he’s just unbelievable!

    Alcaraz showed what a master strategician he is. Constatly varying the depth, pace of his groundstrokes. And then mixing it up with drop shots and his immaculate net game. Perfect mix to be Sinner.
    Let's see if he can outwit Medvedev :-)

    • @jay_kulina
      @jay_kulina Рік тому +4

      Outwit? No! Medvedev is a master tactician second only to Rafa and Novak. Alcaraz is the most talented all-around though. If Alcaraz wants to win, he has to mainly outhit him and be mindful of his shot selection and UEs. If he plays like in the first set against Jannik, he's got no chance against Med. Sure, it would be best if Carlos would change his tactics(slice more, come to the net a bit more, control his aggression to avoid silly UEs) a bit, but it's not like he can't win even without changing anything. If he is on his day, there is almost nothing you can do. Even if you are as good of a counterpuncher as Daniil is.

      @@javiert.592 Yeah probably he will, but it's not like he'd have discovered fire. Nor would he be the first to do it, lol. Rafa is the one who pretty much invented the textbook on how to beat prime Medvedev. He's beaten him in every possible way. Rafa is the one who first saw Med's weakness dealing with slice(Med has almost fixed that weakness), thus feeding him all you can eat bh slices. He is the first who saw how much of an advantageous play is the serve n volley (out wide) against Daniil. Tsitsipas has also figured him out. Always had tremendous problems against Daniil's game. But he started employing serve n volley to the maximum plus more slices and beat him twice in a row on hard.

He loves it when players don't hit that hard. He will have a lot of fun. Will be a fun game but when you give Carlitos too many chances in longer rallies he will usually find the opening. He managed to win the first set despite not being the best player up untill then. Even though statistics show 17 forehand winners in the whole match, I think Alcaraz's forehand was not as powerful as other times.
    However Alcaraz's first serve worked quite well during the whole match. So it's nice to see Carlitos's first serve getting better.
