Marcus, hopefully you see this. I know in the past you have posted about having an issue with imposter syndrome and the things that come along with that. There is nothing, NOTHING about you that is an imposter. You do not get to the skill level without an insane amount of practice, hard work, and dedication. Imposters aren't willing to do those things. You are an incredible musician and more importantly, an incredible human. Your videos bring so much joy to people and you are such a pleasure to watch. I know you have been struggling lately, but you should know that, for every tear you may have shed due to your struggles, you have undoubtedly helped thousands of others to cope with their struggles through your videos and your music. Take whatever time you need to help yourself, but also remember all of those you help and touch through the videos you produce. I know you've mentioned struggling with mental health issues this year. It's been a rough one for me too. Started seeing a therapist and it's helped immensely. The struggle continues, but I'm learning to walk again. Hope you're finding the support you need & encourage anybody struggling with mental health issues to get the help they need and deserve. Haven't watched the video yet, but stoked you posted it and glad to see you back.

About 6 or 8 months ago, I was in a dark place. I binge watched as much Marcus Veltri and Rob Landes as I could find, and they helped me find joy again. I KNOW I'm not the only one, so thank you guys, for bringing so much joy to so many people.

ive been a piano player since i was a kid. i consider myself to be pretty good but i kind of abandoned lessons when i was a teenager so ive basically forgotten most of the more complex aspects of music theory. i can read music but honestly i dont know understand what im reading i just do it. my left hand is good but not expert like my right and i can hear something and play the most simple version of it after some trial and error but what marcus does belies an incredible understanding of music theory because when he hears something he hears the exact key its in, the timing, and how the chords progress and in what form they are. its like 10 levels above my capability and makes me wish i wouldve stuck with lessons and committed theory to the core of my memory.
