Antonio is so sweet. The fact he was born when Mirabel was giftless....he adores his cousin and doesn't care that she lacks a gift...and sees her as another big sister. Accepting her who she is....to the point he felt more secure going to his door to receive his gift if Mirabel held his hand...because he was scared...especially with being placed on his worry about not receiving one. And Antonio helping him with Bruno...learning he was behind the walls because he can understand the rats. And was fully supportive because Mirabel needed it.

The best thing about his gift is that he can only communicate with animals, not control them to any degree. The boy's got such a strong affinity for them that he can immediately tame a jaguar
Please note. Antonio would have lost his powers when the flame went out, just like the rest of his family. So that means that when the jaguar took him to Bruno and Maribel, or any of the animals that stayed with/played with him while rebuilding the house, were not doing it because of his powers. They (like us) just really live this kid.
Honestly I can relate to Antonio bc I’m one of th youngest kids in my family and I’m no close in age with a lot of my siblings/cousins/second cousins/etc.
If you want a child like Antonio then you should be like his parents 🥰. You can’t expect a child to be good one if you can’t be a good parent yourself.

I just realized how close Antonio must be to Mirabel. Even if they don't have much in common, they no doubt have had plenty of close moments-- and maybe even some fights-- since they share a bedroom. Mirabel is his best friend, not even the animals can replace her. I feel like Mirabel may resent the others just a LITTLE (or a lot in Isabela's case) bit for their gift, but I don't think she'd resent Antonio. Ok but like he has the biggest room of them all-- we only see Isabela's but you can imagie what the other rooms would look like. His has to fit an entire ecosystem. Parce 🐆(BTW, PARCE IS A JAGUAR, THAT EMOJI IS A LEOPARD. Jaguars live in South America, Leopards live in Africa and Asia.
