I think timestamps are great after you've watched the entire podcast and want to return to a specific moment. Bur if you haven't watched yet you risk skipping over interesting and funny moments just because you don't feel intrigued by the title of the section.
I used timestamps a few podcasts ago to skip over parts that I thought wouldn't interest me but then I discovered there were moments I've missed in the conversation that I actually end up enjoying :)
I agree completely, I feel like this should be a thing more, since I want to rewatch certain moments of old podcasts as well and it takes me forever to either find the timestamp in the comments or just scroll through the video, eventually giving up and closing it
What was Blaine doing at 32:14 - 32:20?
I love that Blaine is on the podcast so much lately.
velociraptor1324 didn't they say he's taken Barbaras place permanently cause she does Always Open now?
+christian thompson please be true
he looks more comfortable.
christian thompson I don't think they said that.
velociraptor1324 Blaine>Babs
burnie and gus play off each other so well
you should go back to podcast 1 and 131 and listen to how great they were and why they were voted as one of the best podcasts on itunes, burnie, geoff, gus and gavin/jack/joel/matt/griffon together are some of the funniest people on the planet.
still true today, and probably gonna be true 10 years from now. love those guys
24:51-24:58 I would think Gavin would be excited to get 12 Megs
Goodguy001 how is this not top comment lol
Nicholas Nuttall cause it's not our king in it
I couldn't wait to hear them talk about what has happened, then remembered this was recorded on Monday. .
What if they skip a podcast 404 and go from 403 to 405 as a joke of error 404 not found.
Burns Sorola 2020!
ÁUß Code Id rather shoot myself than have Kanye as president right after Trump
ÁUß Code
Imagine that debate.
Both of them interrupting each other and saying they have the best plans.
ÁUß Code. NO, YOU AIN'T GOT THE ANSWERS BRO!!!
8, 11!
Feel the BURN
I can only think of the RT Animated: "Disease Movie Theatre:"
"Mr. President... We're f***ed."
Tim the Animator "WE GOTTA GET TOO THE BUNKER"
Tim the Animator he'll be no better than what we'd get with Hillary. He's already putting wallstreet insiders and corporate lobbyists in his cabinet.
Bonfire-Chan First I wanna state I'm anti-Trump, but I kinda like the fact about having wall street insiders. see, they work with money for a living, they know what needs change and what doesn't. Idk I'm probably wrong, but that's just my view
Wonder what they'll say about the president to be since this was recorded before the election.
Wolffang731 Well Texas was always Republican so it's a tossup... and they probably will talk about it on The Patch.
Ipsita M Surprised tbh
Michael, they all live in austin and are liberals. They might as well live in seattle or portland lol so of course they(especially gavin) are most likely going to be upset. Should make for some entertaining content I say.
They live in Austin. Very progressive city.
Ok
The episode where Burnie aged 30yrs. lol
Burnie really predicted people's reactions.
Sure, but it's not about how obvious it is - it's about seeing the problems beyond your own bias. We saw so little of that in this campaign, people were just blinded by their own bias on both sides.
there is already.
Blaine, or Blaine's great uncle, were absolutely right. that's how we get the phrase "graveyard shift". Before we had heart monitors they would have a wake. The wake would be people loudly partying around the body in hopes to wake them up or reaffirm that they're dead. However sometimes they would bury the living and they would wake up buried alive and scratch the coffin. When this was discovered they would put bells above ground with a string leading into the coffin and someone would have to tend the graveyard to listen for the bells. That's why they call it the graveyard shift.
NHK LM wow
you are correct Burnie and Gus are dumb
NHK LM it's also where the phrase saved by the bell comes from
And after all, the bodies Blaine's great uncle were moving weren't newly buried (mostly, probably), so many of them would have been from the 19th century, when this stuff still happened.
It's not actually, that comes from boxing, it's a myth that it comes from safety coffins
Halo 5 takes up 87 GB with updates now.
Connor R was 90 gb
Connor R mine is 120
mr handsy no its not
yes it is, had to do it last week
I'd vote for Burnie if he represented the internet, to be honest. Everything he says aligns with me and my beliefs.
Internet party already exists where I live, New Zealand. They didn't do well...
HRPNZ Don't know about the candidate over there, but I'd get behind Burnie even if he was independent.
Yea, the benefit that Burnie would have is he is actually a large part of the internet, not just another politician who is appealing to voters.
They don't know yet, and that's sad.
Bakorafanboy13 Ignorance is bliss, right?
Bakorafanboy13 next weeks gonna be fun
Just looking at their Twitter tells me they are not happy. hahaha
Muricanknight 5678 True, we can't vote again until 2020.
theinsaneworld you don't need the popular vote, you need the electoral college. that's just how it works.
23:55 Burnie talking about a 45GB game being ridiculous, oh Burnie you have no idea
21:26 - 22:25 This needs animating, because Burnie animations are the best animations ...
The call back to the signs of death😂. Blood outside the body. DEAD. Head not attached? DEAD!
Oh Burnie u have no idea how far the internet has come!
Holy moly. This randomly came across my recommendations so I am watching alot of the Podcast again. Watching this one on 11/3/2020. election day.
IF you close your eyes, it sounds like Simmons, Church, pvt Jones and Blaine having a conversation.
I looooove action filled long takes, the amount of coordination and timing necessary to pull those off is amazing
I love the long take in True Detective S01E04
The conversation about autonomous stuff and jobs and economy was honestly the most interesting part about the podcast imo
Is this the best episode? Hilarious. Miss you Burns, hope the family's well.
I love going back and watching old RT Podcasts.
if this podcast isn't about 401k plans I'll be disappointed. .
The joy I get by seeing the podcast uploaded is indescribable:D
I got tingles when they said they saw my Skyrim Gif 23:16
Crazy how accurate burnie is on his points about the backlash from the election , about how either supporters will react. It's literally spot on.
Burns/Sorola 2020 Def got my vote
This was probably my favourite podcast yet.
The buried alive thing is real. It's actually where the phrase "saved by the bell" comes from. They found a scratch marks on the inside of lots of coffins so they started putting bells above the grave that would be connected to a string in the coffin. If the gravekeeper heard a bell they could go check and dig up the person who was buried. #savedbythebell
or at least that's what I learned in grade school.
Woah.
that's actually just a myth but it would be more interesting if that were the case.
Tanner Scott I heard about that in school, I think it was during some like virus outbreak like some big plague and so they were also trying to contain the virus and so buried the "dead" quickly.
Nope, it comes from boxing where the bell was what separated the rounds.
I really do like it when they get real, like, it kinda sucks that people will avoid topics to stay away from the backlash. it's wonderful when people are that confident in their fan base that they can talk about things like socialism and the election, and do it in a serious tone, rather than make a joke about it like some may do.
I can’t wait for the day when Burnie yells to some kid “GET OFF MY LAWN!”😂
Forget Trump, I'm more interested on how they're gonna react to the new Toblerone
Damian Naidoo YES
Damian Naidoo i cri evertiem
Woah woah woah, wtf is happening to toblerone
Cowster Toblerone is removing half of the pieces in the bar. Instead of just making the bar shorter (still terrible) they have decided to leave unhealthy looking gaps. Seriously, the pictures aren't looking good.
Jesus this really is a global wide crisis
It was interesting watching this a couple hours before the pulling ended. When they mentioned politics near the later end of the podcast it was a super interesting conversation. Generally neutral in a sense of whatever the results could possibly be.
they have to be like that since they don't want to piss off half of their audience but its pretty obvious that they are all liberals and their attitude on podcast 402 will be....interesting.
ZaneCRUZE
A majority of all of RT was an open Clinton supporter. Just watch any of their other content or look at their social medias.
I was referring more to the fact that is was a very, "Whatever happens, happens," attitude. They clearly had their preference but in the end you have to accept it because literally nothing can be done.
I mean that is exactly the attitude I had. Once you voted, whoever became president was really out of your hands.
They're not Clinton supporters, they were "anyone but Trump" supporters. But yeah people should stop whining about the results, it's over.
Mrtheunnameable dumbass, they are liberals, ergo, they support clinton in the race, regardless of how they feel about her, they still voted for her.
I like that they kept that giant Toblorne wrapper.
I've drunk coffee at 11:00 PM and then fallen asleep at midnight an hour later multiple times.
Caffeine just doesn't do it for me.
"45 gigs is too much for a game"
guess who isn't a pc player
Im on pc and that is still pretty hefty compared to the average game.
Ian Ainsworth I disagree these days most game are 40+
Ian Ainsworth adding mods makes it crazy big so 45 is like 1% of a good nodded game
it getting kinda ridiculous, Gta id like 80 gb on pc and my internet isnt great so it talk super long time to download
It is too much. Most of the time the majority of the file size is uncompressed audio and video which is just dumb.
I can't wait for next weeks podcast😉😉
i love that at 37:00 Gavin literally telling a hypothetical story about what he would do and almost made himself throw up xD
"It's like a convenience store in Yemen."
At 22:00 when burnie described what it feels like for him when he makes a glass fall, or something like that, reminds me when Yang dropped that glass when she we cleaning the dishes then got flashbacks of Adam. :P
''YEAAAAH THATS THE STUFF''
Now we need an RT short of the Omaha Beach scene in Saving Private Ryan but with Burnie at a dinner party knocking over a glass.
I don't know about you guys. but when Bernie hits that softer explanatory voice like when he was explaining what he is scared of in terms of the of the election. Ink why but. I feel the need to listen. he is a good man
This episode is a really deep one for me.
Can't wait to see Gavin rant about trump winning on a podcast in the future
He basically did on twitter this morning.
BlackPuma describes Gavin perfectly.
So true
ZeroSanity626 he won't. I imagine They'll say some stuff and move on. Gavin will probably point it out smugly after they made fun of him for Brexit. Both of us chose the unknown rather than the known devil, hopefully it works out well haha.
+ZeroSanity626 Gavin won't be around to say that, he'll be deported
I love this podcast; it is very informative and brings up interesting topics.
A million dollars, but...everytime someone in your room spills a drink, you get the biggest adrenaline rush of your life.
I laughed my ass off thinking about this, imagine on a date trying to stay calm lmao,
That video that Burny was talking about is on of the scariest videos i have ever watched.
around 1:20:45, Burnie says "I'm a socialist for sure."
BERNIE/BURNIE 2020
Sorola for campaign manager
HeckuvaMedusa8 Bernie/Burns 2020?
HeckuvaMedusa8 I think he said "it's socialist for sure"
HeckuvaMedusa8 Burnie said its socialist for sure.
"It's Socialist. Sure."
He should move to North Korea then, I hear it's lovely there
How many hours of content in podcasts alone has been released? A question I ask myself as I've now gone through the back catalogue four times...
And here I am. A year later 👍
Watching this after the election.....wow burnie was right on the nail
Hearing Burnie yell shut up at his phone is one of the best things I've heard in a while
1:13:45 it's so weird to hear that two-three years later and thinking that he was completely correct. It hasn't been over, and it won't be over until we get a competent president. When I first heard this podcast I wasn't that worried about it, I was a dumb kid, and to an extent I still am. Although I think now I've learned to be worried about this stuff now.
and now look at the world just 10 months later, Christ.
Jeez, I miss the Acoustic Intro. Such chill times
32:28 "Gus' Turbulent Urination" RTAA
You would have my vote! Feel the Burnie Burns!
Wonder how they feel after today?
I'm certainly looking forward to watching it, should be pretty interesting.
about what?
Jakia Teasley you live under a rock?
Maldoré don't be rude. I knew what you were talking about, I was being funny.
the part about being buried alive was something that actually happened. There were some instances where a string would be tied to a persons arm and run up through ground and tied to a bell. Someone would sit by their grave for the night and if the bell rang they would dig the person up.
My great grandma was about to be buried alive until someone saw her pinky move
Go SKC how do you make that mistake?
Slowed down heart-rate, means softer pulse.
the new outro music is amazing
19 podcasts left...
I flipped off my laptop just as Blaine said, "Thanks Steve!"
I just want a piece of that toblerone
Cool trick for movie theatre watching. Go on a Monday or Tuesday. Usually a discount on tickets and fewer people.
did Burnie not see the pumpkin on Off Topic? Gavin will not do anything with that beer, just like he "caught" the paper towels afterwards
Gus Monday started bad , man his Wednesday will be great
RTAA Gus pissing all over the airplane restroom
2 minutes. This has to be a record for how quickly they've made Gavin gag on a podcast.
still so relevant 2023
When Burnie answered Gavin's question about whether he's scared about the outcome of the election or not, you can hear his voice change and you can tell he's speaking from his heart.
I'm halfway through, then I notice TOBLERONE
Next weeks podcast is going to be hellfire
#Burnsforpresident2020
Gavin has given us such an awesome gif 4:03
1:14:00 Burnie predicting the future
Kai Pedersen Ikr
Kai The Guy
Not true, tons of people are still complaining about trump supposedly rigging the election.
its funny how burnie nailed it when he says people will be saying that's not my president.
It's interesting seeing these guys feel this way back then, and to see how their beliefs have changed and they've radicalized with the times. I'm glad to see that people grow and can move from this relatively moderate stance to where RT is now politically when presented with the evidence. Really smart guys.
"Somebody's gonna kill someone on camera" -Burnie talking about the internet, unaware of what Steve Stevens was about to do
I'm still for #Kanye2020 but if Burns/Sarola happens I'm voting for the cheese master. Yes we can...summon Gus an Uber
One of my favorite philosophical podcasts so far. Truthfully I do love and hope for the Star Trek like "economy" and society, if that were to happen then I can easily work on my own video game for "free".
well....Burnie called it
if you turn off questmarkers in skyrim youll never find anything, because its not designed to be found without it (aka bad design).
EndOfGaming124 It really immerses you when you do that and it feels extra special when you find something out pure coincidence. Imagine Skyrim VR.
I just have the quest marker on and I slowly move towards my quest location but I also go and discover every location which pops up in the general direction of the marker. Going from Whiterun to Solitude took me about 3 actual days of gameplay before I got there
Apparently open world games are intrinsically bad design
Didn't Elder Scrolls Morrowwind have a system where you followed directions to get places? I never played it but I heard it was cool. :P
Ever played Morrowind? No quest markers. I found everything just fine along with other things i wasnt looking for. Made the game more enjoyable IMO. Quest markers should be banned.
Haha seems like Gavin is bullying Burnie these days
Hey Burnie keep talking about Philadelphia, I love when you talk about my city. :)
Brendon! At The Urie right! So upset I missed him!
Brendon! At The Urie heyyy I didn't even know he was here but same city.
was hoping Gavin would have a poppy
I reckon that after being the US for so long it's been forgotten.
Callum Blair do Americans not wear a poppy?????
HerpDerpnessing Pretty sure they don't. It's very much a British thing.
i'm loving this podcast i'm happy blaine is getting on more podcasts
did barb have to escape from trump?XD
Vincent Fürst That snow Mexican...
No, she has a green card, and is here by legal means.
I guess she will give it back with mr dumph as poopident
Didn't you watch the podcast? She got kidnapped by Pink Elmo.
No I didn't have the time yet but sounds promisingXD
I really like that Blaine is on the podcast a lot more these days.
Kendra MorrisonHow have gus and Burnie never heard of people getting buried alive? They used to tie bells to the corpses' wrists so you could hear them if they woke up
The solar roadways were not a scam, they were approved by the highway association and given a chance to present a demo which is currently up and running and impressing all that visit.
Devildog Cipher impressing??? half of them are not working and they are not even harvesting enough power to run their own lights. the lights are not even visible during the day, so they are useless as lane markings. So to sum up... energy debt, 50% failure in a short space of time, expensive and useless markings.... and you are impressed???
ah, you are right. last I checked on them, they were having problems getting them out in time but it seems they still need to work on the product. no worries though, just a setback.
last time i came this early, obama was still president.
A HOE BY THE WATER obama is still president
ORSON SCOTT CARD ONE OF NY FAVORITE AUTHORS EVER
SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU FIND A STRANGER IN THE ALPS?!
such an interesting podcast. one of the great ones
41:40 5 years later and we are in a global pandemic :P
I, for one, appreciate that Blaine moved that conversation away from politics
