Really dope, been enjoying this version for 3 years straight. Yes, the original beat has a lil' harder feel to it...it evokes a harder, angrier vibe. But the content of the lyrics are suited to this beat as well...the jazzy soulful kick is a little softer, makes the song feel like more of a lament, which is relevant to what he's saying. Big ups Freddie J, been doing it proper since '96
Chr1sBest damn brotha you went all out on this , this is just soothing... you have to release this hot beat mah man. This instrumental u would not find on here
It is, of course, a matter of _preference..._ but I think Premier's version is harder. Freddie's version is without a doubt definitely more chill and just as dope--I'm Mos Def-initely diggin' the piano riffs and overall arrangement. Dope, any way you slice it.
Hell yeah! I dig both, but the Jenova 7 track is awesome as well! (was happy to pick up that submission a while back www.whosampled.com/sample/329760/Jenova-7-Just-Chill-Leroy-Hutson-Cool-Out/ ;P though it's not an incredibly rare find or anything)
Never used to be into rap/hip hop that much as the lyrics were dumb as fuck but its grown up now and fuckin love the shit! Im likeing a the hip hop crowd getting into psychedelics its really expanded the music. Tunes like this are sick.
-유기농 범이-Organic dude more than 8 years ago. This track was on his Black on both sides album. That album was released in 1998. Step it up youngin, know your hip hop lol.
@pantarage I don't believe you can learn to produce from someone you have to teach yourself how to produce - learn to write music first - instrumental then start writing lyrics - or get someone how's dope at it then you start learning about sound these are the 3 phases of producing - it's generally about having and training your good taste in music experience is the most important part - not only listening music - but analysing - not only analysing music - but making music
The beat takes away some of the resentment that the lyrics give, but it gives it a more natural feel. I can't tell if i like this or the original better.
legendary remix. call me a heretic, but I used to listen to this version way more than the original...
Never thought that id like remix better than its original but this is the best renix ive ever heard for a song imo
2012 me from facebook brought me here and I thank him
It trips me out how this kinda music died and that mainstream filth plays on the radio with no heart or soul.
+SanjiBaratie it didn't die
lol it didn't die, are you 15?
Jenova and Mr Moods did a version of this that I actually prefer. No words spoken, just blunted beats

Really dope, been enjoying this version for 3 years straight.

30 dislikes ??? Why people dislike this ???
It's not the original
+Carl RW obviously, if they wanted the original they know where to find it haha. Why come to this and dislike it?
Ashley Ayvaliklis I don't know. Ask them.
The dislikes don't appreciate real Hip Hop, simple and plain, at least we do
Those were 30 missclicks
58 by now.
Wow... when a remix beats the orignal... which is all the more striking when the original is... Preemo !

Big ups for Brother Sam.I hope you know what I'm talking about.

Does anyone have this instrumental?
