Rescued a wild parrot 7 months old. Never caged but he couldn't fly high as crows attacked and tore its feathers. Stayed with us uncaged for 1 yr and regained new feathers also it started getting orange ring around its neck. It was trained to talk and was very friendly never flew even when kept in open. One day when i was not home and it was playing outside it flew away. We searched for him and still searching but couldn't find a trace. Dont know how high we could fly. Hope he has made it to his home tree. Miss him so much. I loved him more than anything ❤️
@MrTyilster actually these parrots are native to India and so they can fly freely without fear but i have a cockatiel and two java sparrows which are foriegn and if I release them then any larger bird can kill them
And unless your parrot was trained from a very young age, it most probably would leave. This one in the video looks like it has been trained for free flight

You're lucky to have such a free flight friendly environment, I trained my cinnamon conure for free flight it was very smart and learned few tricks on his own, however, my neighborhood is a predator den with lotsa crows, pigeons and few other territorial aggressors, one fine day I was playing with my conure in the parking lot free lighting, for reason it chose to go out of the parking lot and that's it the crows started chasing the bird was so scared and started flying relentlessly and in a few seconds gone out of sight, just vanished in a thin air, I ran behind the flight path but no luck, I was whistling the entire neighborhood the whole day and my evening I stood at the terrace of my apartment and whistled for an hour no luck and until this day I've been hoping and waiting for his return, so pls be very careful, it wasn't the birds fault it was mine, I should've weighed in the pros and cons and always have a plan for what if...
