    (Lyrics) German
    Morgen marschieren wir
    Zu dem Bauer ins Nachtquartier.
    Eine Tasse Tee, Zucker und Kaffee,
    Eine Tasse Tee, Zucker und Kaffee
    Und ein Gläschen Wein,
    Und ein Gläschen Wein!
    Kannst du nicht schlafen ein,
    So nimm doch einen Schlaftrunk ein:
    Trink ne Tasse Tee, Zucker und Kaffee,
    Trink ne Tasse Tee, Zucker und Kaffee
    Und ein Gläschen Wein,
    Und ein Gläschen Wein!
    Mädchen, ich liebe dich.
    Hochzeit aber nein das geht noch nicht.
    Wart' nur noch ein Jahr,
    Dann wird's werden wahr;
    Wart' nur noch ein Jahr,
    Dann wird's werden wahr,
    Dass wir sind ein Paar,
    Dass wir sind ein Paar.

    I like the fact that a few stanzas from the song made their appearance in the latest "All Quiet on the Western Front" movie; me and my friends had a movie night on the day that it launched on Netflix, and when the characters started singing "Eine tasse Tee, Zucker und Kafee..." I sang along with the movie. I was really surprised by that, for I enjoy this song a lot, although it belongs to a very niche genre and in a controversial period, which also made this movie have the best depiction of WWI German soldiers' life in recent years.

      That "year" doesn't refer to war, it refers to conscription and compulsory military service that lasted a year or two.

    a love story ending there.
    the guy had to go to war, and he thought she would have to wait just one more year, after all, this war would end before christmas.
    it took 4 years... maybe she waited, quite possibly not, must have starved,... and he quite possibly died.

      You are clearly Russian, I do not mean to be rude , but you can't deny that the war against Nazi army required half armies of the world to stop and defeat them and the Russian Red Army was
      Part of theses armies ،
      this is what made it legendary

      @@nour1372 Germany had almost all of Europe fighting alongside them, you just don’t wanna admit that we didn’t just defeat the Fascist hordes in battle but that we annihilated them. 90% of the Nazi Army fought on the eastern front and i am not even mentioning it’s allies and volunteers, the Axis armies bled, froze, and spread disease through it’s ranks just like Napoleon’s Grand Armee did. We planted the Soviet flag upon Berlin and Hitler shot a bullet through his maniac-skull after we were close to reaching his headquarters. 🇷🇺☦️💪

      @UlmanistLatvia Рік тому +8

      @@russkayaimperiya4918 How far would they have gone, if the Americans did not send supplies?
      The Soviet Union promoted atheism, and officially also multiculturalism, so why does your comment include the orthodox cross, and any mention of Russia? Was it not a Georgian and a Ukrainian who raised the flag over the Reichstag?
      By the way; have you been conscripted?

    • @russkayaimperiya4918
      @russkayaimperiya4918 Рік тому +4

      @@UlmanistLatvia 85% of Soviet supplies in 1942 (Peak Stalingrad and Leningrad siege among tough battles) was self-made, The Soviet Union industrialized under Lenin but especially under Stalin’s rule faster in just 4 years then most western countries did in 8. It came at a heavy cost, caused famines and brought people to their limits but they survived and continued. Most of allied supplies to the Soviet Union came after Stalingrad, not before it. And yes, the Soviet Union promoted atheism and even enforced it by force. Closing down churches and killing church leaders because Orthodoxy played a important role to Tsar and Imperial Russia as a whole, this crackdown however lessened under Stalin and basically was abandoned when the great patriotic war happened. Masses and even priests themselves were allowed to make speeches in public places, talkijg to people such as soldiers and other important people of the state to boost morale and hope. And what you are saying is nonsense when it comes to multiculturalism, Russia has been a nation with millions of different people’s, religions cultures and much since our existence as a real state. And it was a Russian project from the start, the Soviet Star rised up from the ashes of the Imperial Phoenix. And a mixed Ukrainian-Russian army corp reached the Reichstag among others corps, our country is too diverse to mention certain people’s as you have done. And as for conscription, the reserves have already been called. There is no such thing as general mobilization going on like the west suggests.
