The funny thing is, having beaten the game, I can confirm exactly what Eve1156 said, the final battle, where this song plays, the main characters armies join forces to fend off the threat in the form of the main antagonist of the game. Also, when I mention "Main antagonist" I don't mean the main person or entity you fight throughout the games, I mean the one behind the curtain, using everyone like puppets for their own designs.
I've played the game, and in the map I always took the female singer to be Celica and the male to be Alm asking and answering each other before fighting together
That simply repeating jingle throughout the track is actually a tune from the NES original this game is a remake of, and the main choir bit is the main motif of the remake which is neat

Based on this, the song actually is not for the player, but the final stand of the Duma Faithful which adds more to the overall tone of the lore of SoV (Plus the fact that they were able to remaster the Gaiden Twilight of the Gods into this is sooo awesome!)

And thus our heroes start a new era, one of humans that build their own future, that's why the song is called Twilight of the Gods.

Oh yes Pride and Arrogance. I use it a lot as my villain themes in my dnd games. None of my players know fire emblem well and so using tracks they don't recognize is a world of fun.
Another Fire Emblem song I really recommend is "Lord of a Dead Empire" which seems like it's up your alley: it has similar performing forces to God Shattering Star but more emotions. It's literally like an opera ballad.
This song is amazing. If you want another from the same game try "What lies at the end" or "Heritors of Arcadia". They're two of my favorites from that game. Heritors of Arcadia was sung by one of the voice actors in the game so it might be a good fit for you.
The first part of this piece is when all your comrades are telling you that it's been truly an honor to fight with you, and let us fight, overcome this final battle that is about to happen. These comrades can be your childhood friends, former enemies, or friends you found a way through during your journey. In this game, you have 2 main characters, each going on their own journey. The people they meet are different in their stories. And now, both parties are together. Fighting together united from 2 different journeys, this music is a song of unification and determination against a common threat. From Fire Emblem, I highly recommend Lord of a Dead Empire from FE Echoes, FE Awakening's Id (Purpose), and Apex of The World (3H)!
If you want more fire emblem i would reccomend "A Funeral of Flowers" from fire emblem three houses. It is a deeply emotional and epic track that to this day i cannot listen to without a minimum reaction of HEAVY goosebumbs. Also a quick warning the battle music in three houses has two different versions, rain and thunder, rain being the full propper track, and thunder being a simplifyed but heavier version of the track, if you want to lusten to a funeral of flowers i would reccomend the rain version, and that stays true for any other bits of music from three houses in the future so you can be sure that you listen to the correct version.

Fire Emblem Shadow's of Valentia has the best soundtrack out of all the Fire Emblem games in my opinion. Almost every song is amazing. So much heart in every song and it really drives the game and brings it to life. You really feel like you're in a long war with the characters.
I would highly recommend both Lord of a Dead Empire and Scion's Dance in Purgatory if you want to hear more great vocals from Fire Emblem Echoes' OST. And for a personal recommendation in regards to final map tracks from Fire Emblem, I would absolutely recommend A Grasping Truth from Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, that whole game's soundtrack has such a unique soundscape (not too crazy since most Fire Emblem games tend to have a unique sound they go for), but Radiant Dawn's is something real special.

Shocked no one has mentioned it but I'd love to see a reaction to Id (Purpose), the final theme of Awakening. It's always been one of my favorite boss themes in this series and I'd argue it stands toe to toe with God Shattering Star and Twilight of the Gods.
YES FIRE EMBLEM! I just discovered your channel from the God Shattering Star reaction appearing in my feed. You also pretty much nailed that description of where this song appears in the game lol. It's the Final Battle theme. I recommend reacting to Xenoblade music. A LOT of those OST's are vocal heavy and one in particular called the "Indoline Praetorium" from Xenoblade 2 which is split into a Day version and Night version, both of which have different names. (Day version is called Our Eternal Land, Night is called We Are The Chosen Ones) Really enjoying watching all of these videos!
I can’t help but feel like this song is not only from the heroes’ perspective, but the lyrics also indicate the followers of the evil deity you’re fighting against making their last stand, sure their god will protect them. And then there are also some lyrics that seem to be from the perspective of the people who have fallen victim to the war, begging for peace and praying that all will end well.
Yeah part of what makes this track so rad is the intentionality in rearranging the NES tune. It’s a fun back-to-back listen! But as others have said - “Lord of a Dead Empire” from this same game freakin’ rules. Would strongly recommend.

I have something in a bit different vain, Ender Lillies, which was composed by Milli, I recommend the entire OST but the tracks I recommend are: Rosery Intro/outro Bible Intro/Outro North Bloom Intro (A beautiful solo Violin piece)/Outro(a beautiful solo piano) The Sun Intro/outro I do recommend the whole OST but the pieces above I felt would fit the channel somewhat.

A song that's really cool is "Lord of a Dead Empire" from the same game. You should give it a listen, it's dope and kind of reminds me of God Shattering Star.
Very close, it is the final boss but not an enemy, is like the purge of a god that went insane and the ultimate goal is allowing him to rest, slaying him with a divine weapon and joining forces to amend the mistakes made by the kingdoms of those two forces.
Yet another banger where I just listened to this song for HOURS in-game on my 3DS. Hell, this track alone was enough of a motivator for me to do at least 3 additional runs in Echoes. No, this is not an exaggeration, and I have no regrets regarding that decision, even if it did cost me over 150 hours of my time between the multiple runs following my first.
Fated lovers at the head of their respective armies finally reunite after contless trails to face off against a threat to the future. An ancient dragon god clinging to life refusing to seal off their powers to escape the madness, bringing their fanatic followers down with them.
Please look at the Xenogears OST: The Beginning and the End. One of the few game pieces that I remembers so vividly; One that still 24 years later will still make me tear up. The vocals are so clean it's almost magical. ---- Subbed because I love professional and semi-professional reactions.

One I recommend listening to next is Awakening the Chaos from Blazblue Calamity Trigger. Very otherworldly vocals complimented with a heavy metal track. Be fun to see you react!
What I really like about the vocals in this track is that (in my opinion) it represents the coming of a new era for the people of Valentia. They believed so much in their deities and now must kill them (because they went crazy) and later will have to face a life without their protection/blessings. Realizing and accepting this is not easy and the vocals show that struggle.

The team behind that game recently revealed two of the songs from the game, they are pretty much the antithesis to one another yet they are both amazing. If you're sticking to the Fire Emblem franchise, ID Purpose from Awakening is the first one in the franchise to have an opera style final boss theme and is worth checking out if you already haven't. Outside of Fire Emblem, you should also check out the Bravely Default Series (Bravely Default, Bravely Second and Bravely Default II). There are some banger songs worth listening to.

Loving these reactions! I know you are both an opera singer and a Final Fantasy fan, but if you haven't heard the Distant Worlds version of Maria and Draco from FF6, then I highly recommend listening to that! It is a 10 minute opera written for that game. It may be hard to react to, as Square is sometimes a little fussy with copyright stuff, but it would be interesting hearing a former opera singer break down that song/performance.

I personally recommend, also from Shadows of Valentina, The Scions’ Dance in Purgatory. It’s very intense, quick and with a good range of vocals. It’s a short song, but it perfectly represents the clash of two entirely different wills fighting to the death. Have a good day! Backstory with no spoilers of the song if you’re interested: A character becomes incredibly delusional after having their whole life pulled out from underneath them, and turns to the darkest side they can turn to win, their last comeback so to speak. Doing so they basically sell their soul to the devil willingly, hurts those dearest to them without batting an eye and transforms their already power hungry nature into an obsession to kill that who they think is at fault for destroying their life.
I recommend bravely default ost if you're looking for more music, to be precise: That person's name is.(boss theme) Serpent eating the ground.(final boss theme)

God, I haven’t even played Echoes yet but from the tracks I’ve heard from FEH and UA-cam I can tell it’s LEGENDARY in the music department

Shocked no one has mentioned it but I'd love to see a reaction to Id (Purpose), the final theme of Awakening. It's always been one of my favorite boss themes in this series and I'd argue it stands toe to toe with God Shattering Star and Twilight of the Gods.

I recommend reacting to Xenoblade music. A LOT of those OST's are vocal heavy and one in particular called the "Indoline Praetorium" from Xenoblade 2 which is split into a Day version and Night version, both of which have different names. (Day version is called Our Eternal Land, Night is called We Are The Chosen Ones)

I can’t help but feel like this song is not only from the heroes’ perspective, but the lyrics also indicate the followers of the evil deity you’re fighting against making their last stand, sure their god will protect them. And then there are also some lyrics that seem to be from the perspective of the people who have fallen victim to the war, begging for peace and praying that all will end well.
If I had to recommend another song from this game I would have to go with Heritors of Arcadia, the vocalist did an amazing performance

Yeah part of what makes this track so rad is the intentionality in rearranging the NES tune. It’s a fun back-to-back listen!

Very close, it is the final boss but not an enemy, is like the purge of a god that went insane and the ultimate goal is allowing him to rest, slaying him with a divine weapon and joining forces to amend the mistakes made by the kingdoms of those two forces.
Yet another banger where I just listened to this song for HOURS in-game on my 3DS. Hell, this track alone was enough of a motivator for me to do at least 3 additional runs in Echoes. No, this is not an exaggeration, and I have no regrets regarding that decision, even if it did cost me over 150 hours of my time between the multiple runs following my first.

One I recommend listening to next is Awakening the Chaos from Blazblue Calamity Trigger. Very otherworldly vocals complimented with a heavy metal track. Be fun to see you react!
What I really like about the vocals in this track is that (in my opinion) it represents the coming of a new era for the people of Valentia.
They believed so much in their deities and now must kill them (because they went crazy) and later will have to face a life without their protection/blessings.
Realizing and accepting this is not easy and the vocals show that struggle.

I would highly recommend "The Unsung War" from Ace Combat 5. Great emphasis on opera voices with a phenomenal crescendo

I don’t know if you’ve heard them already but there’s a new indie souls-like game called Lies Of P. The team behind that game recently revealed two of the songs from the game, they are pretty much the antithesis to one another yet they are both amazing. If you’re interested the songs are called ‘Wing of Hypocrisy’ and ‘Oblivion’.
Thats the thing I love most about the FE soundtrack. It all sounds as if the whole conflict and war is retold years later inside of an opera-play.

If you're sticking to the Fire Emblem franchise, ID Purpose from Awakening is the first one in the franchise to have an opera style final boss theme and is worth checking out if you already haven't.
Outside of Fire Emblem, you should also check out the Bravely Default Series (Bravely Default, Bravely Second and Bravely Default II). There are some banger songs worth listening to.

Loving these reactions! I know you are both an opera singer and a Final Fantasy fan, but if you haven't heard the Distant Worlds version of Maria and Draco from FF6, then I highly recommend listening to that! It is a 10 minute opera written for that game. It may be hard to react to, as Square is sometimes a little fussy with copyright stuff, but it would be interesting hearing a former opera singer break down that song/performance.

@MarcoMeatball hiya there! It’s EXCELLENT that you’re getting into listening the OST soundtracks of Fire Emblem (personal favourite being God Shattering Star, such a beautiful track). I personally recommend, also from Shadows of Valentina, The Scions’ Dance in Purgatory. It’s very intense, quick and with a good range of vocals. It’s a short song, but it perfectly represents the clash of two entirely different wills fighting to the death.

I highly recommend Godskin Apostles from Elden Ring if you have not heard it yet! I'm not sure how Fromsoft keeps outdoing themselves with their vocal pieces.
