This was before 1993. In 1993 The Children's Channel moved to Astra 1C Channel 35 10.994 GHz / H Stereo 7.02 7.20 MHz in preparation for going fully subscription only as part of Sky Multichannels and Multichoice Kaleidescope pay-TV packages scrambled in Videocrypt 1 and Videocrypt 2 dual illuminated.
When Astra 1B launched, The Children's Channel and Japan Satellite Television JSTV moved from Astra 1A transponder 5 11.273 GHz H polarization Stereo 7.02 7.20 MHz PAL Clear to Astra 1B channel 24 11.567 GHz V polarization Stereo 7.02 7.20 MHz PAL Clear.
The Children's Channel showed this retuning animation / information graphic on Transponder 5 11.273 GHz H polarization Stereo 7.02 7.20 MHz Clear PAL once it moved between 5am and 10am UK / 6am and 11am CET +1 to inform those with 16-channel Amstrad SRX 100 and 200 receivers to retune to the new frequency.
For other viewers with different brands of Astra receiver and dish, it was just a case of selecting channel 24 on the remote control handset.
After a few weeks of this, the animation was dropped and Lifestyle pushed it's start time forward to 9am UK / 10am CET +1.
The music is stereo from the Wegener Panda 1 stereo sound subcarriers 7.02 7.20 MHz.

@@625line I agree with Anthony here, the latest this could have been was January 1993 because transponder 5 (which this message was shown on) was handed over to VOX in January 1993 after Lifestyle closed. I have a satellite chart from 12 December 1991 which shows The Children's Channel on both transponders 5 and 24. It moved again to 35 (Astra 1C) in mid 1993.

So great to see the video on this again! :-) In these days, I was recording the audio-output of my receiver on tape, when there was some tunes, i liked. This TCC-Bumper was one of them. This particular tape still exists with the audio...but I forgot, what the video for this looked like. Now I remember very clearly! :-) ThankU !

@Group JW sorry it was ARD. They had a voiceover that would say "Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen, A R D "

"1. Turn on the TV and switch it to the satellite channel." So what would you be seeing this on if your tele was off?

If your TV was hooked up with a 21-pin fully wired SCART lead and you switched on your Astra satellite receiver, the receivers picture and stereo sound would appear instantly.
If your Astra satellite receiver was hooked up via RF aerial sockets, you had to select the channel number on your TV that your Astra satellite receiver was tuned to.

Telling this younger generation to 'check the button' would lead to problems these days.
