Hi Paul,
I've got a 10 month old who has started pretty timid and gun shy but I've gotten closer in with the 22 and clappers and he will sit with me shooting it right beside him now but his body language says he's not stoked about it. Obviously its a long way to go from the 22 until he's ok with the 308, I'm just wondering how ok the dog needs to be with gunfire to use him as a deer dog? Have I gone too quick if I'm shooting it besides him and he shows some signs of not being happy?
He's a pretty calm little man in general, but loves birds and rabbits so I'm thinking he might be ready to shoot a rabbit over just to get him excited about the gun rather than just tolerating it before I begin on the 308. I've done a couple of 308 blanks at a pretty big distance and he was ok but yeah not sure if there's much point in getting closer until he's mastered a 22.

Hi Tom, you want them to be very good before you hunt them mate, otherwise you can put them off hunting all together.
My dog runs by seeing a gun, she has been abused but I don't think we can break her she is just way to scared any tips? She even runs if we dry fire a nerf gun or just pull it out.

I am thinking about training a dog using your system, do you think i need a suppressed riffle? or will my old 270 do the trick?.
Hi Dan, it is good, but not essential. We do go over it in the blueprint too. We have plenty of guys in aussie using the blueprint without suppressors getting good results. In the blueprint we go over the best practices when hunting without a suppressor. Hope that helps mate.
