- I head over to the NEC Birming ham for the annual Motorhome & Caravan Show. I try and show you around what I think is relevant to MTB riders in the usual idiot fashion, basically with no idea!

I asked about taking my caravan to a round rd of UKGE at Afan, a few years back (you were there Jim, think it was 2013), and Parr and co were all taking the piss on Facebook. They were all saying mountain biking wasn’t for old men in caravans and it didn’t look cool, etc etc. But it was March, in a boggy field in Wales, so it was bloody and miserable and I didn’t give a shit because I had central heating, a hot shower, loads of light, loads of space, a proper oven and grill, a big fridge full of beer and a big double bed to sleep in. I sat in my lovely caravan for 2 evenings watching these show ponies in their Transporters frightened to get mud on them because they were so precious about them. It was hilarious, they looked bloody useless, having to have a shower outside in the freezing rain, and then leave their showroom condition bikes outside all night. I was sold sold after that, I thought you can keep your ‘cool vans’ and I’ll just happily struggle on with all my home comforts - happy bloke means happy riding! Check out the Swift Basecamp and the Knaus Sport Fun caravans Jim, very cool, but as you now know, non of them are cheap. Also the Decathlon air base xl is worth a look for something cheap and cheerful, bought one in spring and I love it. Great vid, off to see if Brad Pitt wants to swap a dog for a caravan!...
Firstly, you still have a caravan, as for UKGE.......! Secondly, totally agree, fuckin ace comment!! 🤘🤘
I still have a caravan and the Mrs loves it in there - if she's happy, I tend to be very happy! Keep it Pinned Jim!
Really liking the vids man!!
I am with you on keeping the bikes out of sight out of mind (of the thieving barstools)
The wife & I are looking for a motorhome at the moment & it had to have a good size garage, bed on top of the garage & shower room.
But I will have to sell my body for the next 100 years to get anything new.
The 'drive away van awnings' seem worth a look, a tent that attaches to the van but enables you to drive away and leave the awning set up? Those van conversions look awesome but too much money for me....iv'e got a bike habit to pay for ;)
Looked like a good day out Jim. Some nice kit there even if a little on the pricey side. I'm with you on the Car, that would fit nicely on my driveway!
Excellent vlog, time to get the lottery winnings out. One of those would be brilliant for travelling to races.
Hope it works out for you with the sponsorship.
No dislikes class
Had to laugh at the Hobby caravan joke xD
Same haha
Check out Maclaren sports home vans , long wheel base Crafters with garages , brilliant bike vans 👍
Enjoyed that video, thanks. Good to hear it's not just me who is horrified by some of the prices of the campers lol. How do people afford them?!
Being nearly 50 and youngest bloke in there, I'd say retirement funds!! 😁
I'm not far behind you and with a family and two kids to pay for (and an expensive mtb hobby ;-)), even when I retire I can't imagine having 40k+ to splurge on a camper :-(. I like that trailer camper tho, but even that is £19k for the full monty! My mrs says there's no chance lol
We have an opus..... great piece of kit for biking 🚴♂️ and our Scott genius and nomad look so much better on top than those diamondbacks 😂
Lucky buggers!! 🤘🤘
@@PinnedTV not so lucky on the monthly repayments 😂 the opus are great for mtb events although have their downside..... would rather be in a motor home in high winds 😂😂 hope you get a sponsor, love your vlog....🤟🤟🚴♂️🤟🤟
What are they like in cold weather, being just canvas?
@@PinnedTV they are much warmer than a tent as off the ground, and if your hooked up to electric it has a heater which warms it up really quickly..... we don't use ours after October without hooking up 😂
Want something for use in winter in remote areas, thought they'd be a bit chilly!
Time to play the "awning" drinking game..?
Enjoyed the vid
I'v got a vango airbeam that hooks upto my van by a figure of 8 5 minutes and its up 👍
Think I’ll get a £500 second hand one 😂
Should of asked if Jon was free. He knows his way round motor homes. I bet half of them use his products too!
Yeh, he went the next day!
I'm not a Pinner I'm a free man ☺
