RECIPROCAL EXAMPLE: ELECTROSTATIC TRANSDUCER
As we discussed in Ch. 1, an electrostatic transducer can act as a condenser
microphone or a electrostatic loudspeaker. The simplest geometry is a charged
parallel-plate capacitor where one conductor is fixed and the other (a diaphragm) can
flex. The conductors always have equal-and-opposite charge, as in the case of a fixed
capacitor. Refer to the diagram on the left below.
