Thank you! I tried WD-40 and at first was ready to give up cause it wouldn't budge. This video encouraged me to keep applying more spray and apply more pressure and sure enough it began to break free! Saved me from calling a plumber to locate our old houses main shut off

I was at my sister's house. Her's is not stuck on her toilet. It just seems like it was designed or put on in a way where it will only turn a few degrees before stopping

I agree there is some play in the knobs, but these occasionally seize from non use. You would not be able to turn it by hand if it is seized up.

What if my handle is plastic? It’s not going to take the abuse of channel locks. Any suggestions?

The handle is plastic? Are you sure? If so, wrap the handle with multiple layers of paper towers or use a rag and then the channel locks and go slow. Good luck.

    How about wd40?

May work. But you know wd40 is not designed to be a lubricant right? Wd stands for water displacement.

WD 40 is better because it’s penetrating and will make your job easier!

We did hit it with a lubricant. WD is not a lubricant, the WD actually stands for Water Displacement #40.. google it.
