Mommy playing victim just turned my stomach...even more than that pathetic excuse for a man. He wasn't a Father for one moment; he had a child for the sole purpose of having a victim on hand to use and abuse. They should have both rotted in prison. What is wrong with this country that we think 20 years is a sufficient punishment for the murder of a child's soul.
Seriously, I couldn't take her mom's garbage about how she was forced, or her dad's garbage about "not knowing" that what he did was wrong. They were both trying so hard to make themselves look so innocent.

The fact that he believes that a 20 year sentence was too long tells me everything I need to know about him taking accountability. He doesn't feel any remorse at all.

The way he looks at her is freaking me out. How absolutely revolting. My heart goes out to the victim… I can’t imagine the strength it took to survive such a horrific situation.

As an adult, I look back at my experiences and just shudder...no one knows the reality of the monster until they see it face to face.

It happens more than you'd ever think. I watch a dozen TCAP channels. TCAP is To Catch A Predator groups who pose as young ones online. They always have a guy who will tell the decoy they have done the unthinkable,like in this case, and then deny it and they have guys on often who have kids but haven't spoken to them in years and I am positive why their kids don't want anything to do with them. I was blown away at how many there are. It's so rampant one of the groups just did a bust in my town and he admitted on camera that he abuses his stepdaughter and was trying to meet a young one. It's insane and seriously has been getting worse since the border is open. DHS lost 80k kids. They have no idea where they were sent.

Ya it's very common. I was trafficked and sexually abused for 12 years. The courts have protected him, he has been released 3 times and the law did nothing. He did the same thing to his biological son which then he raped his daughters. The man was a master manipulator. Everyone though he was gods gift to this earth. I then was threatened for 9 years that he would murder my family in several different ways everyday of my life after. My phone was tracked, I wasn't aloud to be alone even as a 28 year old. I finally found a point at which I could turn him in and escape and hide. It's been 4 years now and I'm still going through my court case and it's going no where, looks like he might get out again.
What I see is that her father is either a psycopath or antisocial , he doesn't feel any emotions and really tought he was doing nothing wrong or at least lied to himself about what he was doing was okay. He just saw his daughter as a cash opportunity and used her with no regards to her emotions. He probably learn what to say in treatment , because he still doesn't have regrets or compassion toward his Daughter. He just know now that what he did was very wrong and that he made his daughter suffer so much. Still he doesn't understand how much she suffer, he just know she does. There's no emotions in his eyes , this men is highly dangerous and will probably offend again.

He seems dumb as a brick wall though. "Gee I had no idea you would try to kill yourself bc of what happened." Or "I mistook childhood curiosity for actual interest."
He's definitely talking about it, but to a psychopath that just gives them an excuse for their actions. Both parents knew it was wrong and so they blame each other.

Amanda is a perfect example of someone who's survived despite the parents she had.
That two such pathetic, selfish & twisted individuals could produce such a strong resilient & wise daughter is remarkable.
Those two are a waste of oxygen & i cannot believe they both made it out of prison with a pulse.
Especially the female- she's not a woman, a real woman would never do what she did.
I bet they were both in some sort of protective custody.
What's horrifying is that her poor adult life is surviving it. She's such a strong person and it's so horrifying that it's like no matter how strong you are, no matter how much you try to take control of your life, the abuse just follows you like a demon. In my opinion this is as bad if not worse than first degree murder. These are just about the most evil you can find.

That daughter is absolutely beautiful. I hate that she lost her innocence - no, that her innocence was TAKEN from her. But she did not lose the beautiful soul she very obviously has. You can see it. Those monsters however, are ugly as sin because their souls are not worth the effort used to create them.
I see a beautiful woman who has risen above the trash that she had to endure at the hands of her own “parents”.

I'm here to tell you guys, that while most of us didn't go through this extreme many of us were molested. Those "fast "young girls, promiscuous women, drug addicts, alcoholics, homeless, depressed, suicidal people that you turn your nose up to or blind eye possibly but more than likely have been violated. But we don't want to hear it but what her dad said was correct. Many knew back then it was going on and made excuses. It was either the victim wanted it, seduce them, or even "Oh he's sick and can't help himself. Even heard stories of the adult women knowing and sometimes grooming the victims as well.
Who in their right mind comes on Dr. Phil to talk about this for the whole world to see

Explain to me why these people would come on the show knowing how bad everyone is going to shame them and bash them and leave terrible comments about them. Why would they come onto the Dr. Phil show for the whole world and show off their faces and bring this all back up after 20 years I don’t understand but I’m glad they did. I wish this guy would walk into the store while I’m standing there. I’d throw him through the door he came in.

This happens way more than people know because most people keep it behind closed doors and don't report. I was one of them, raped by my stepfather for almost 5 years and my mom wont even believe me almost 15 years later. I was ashamed for years and after my 4th suicide attempt, I was able to go to the psych ward, get out of that house and start a new life. I would not wish the trauma of sexual abuse on anyone because it is debilitating.
These parents are straight up sociopaths. I can't fathom how people like this operate - absolutely no remorse for using their children as pawns in a disgusting money-making scheme. I wish this wasn't real.

I was holding on okay until Dr.phil sat down with her alone. The secret shame a lot of survivors carry is exactly as he described it. The father is obviously a monster but the mother scares me more. The blatant manipulation is so gross, shes such a narcissistic mess trying to dogpile on the father like shes not equally evil.

Incest is always unacceptable, regardless of the era. Parents have a fundamental duty to safeguard their children. Those who engage in such despicable behavior should be sentenced to life in prison. If they are capable of harming their own daughter in this way, one can only imagine what they might do to someone else's child.

What an excuse of parents
We were in 1980is learn in school what incest is and that is not normal to kiss parents in lips, or take a shower or walk even half naked in front of both of them. Back then we were 6-7 y old. So, 20y after that was even more in pictures.
I have no words for her so called "parents". I do for the beautiful woman who has been through horror and unimaginable pain. You deserved Dr. Phil help and although I saw your horrific story well after it was aired, I hope and pray you received the care and help you so needed. Bless you xxx❤
