Definitely a cool bass line. But ultimately that's how bass lines are played. They step out of the lines here and there which is where the funk comes from. With that said I love groovy bass lines and I think this bass line would sound a lot better if they colored outside the lines a bit more, so we agree.

I love the bass in this song- Flea is so underrated. Unfortunately, your right hand is out of frame for large parts of the video which detracts quite a bit.
