Write "gift" under sale price. You won't need to pay NJ sales tax since it was a gift. I recently acquired a vehicle that was a gift, and that's what worked for me at the DMV. If you want, you can always leave it blank and double check with your local DMV employee to ensure you fill it out correctly. It worked in Ocean County at least.

No you do not, I just did this as the buyer, the seller(you) needs to fill out your portion on the back of title and give it to buyer and they go with all their paperwork to the DMV, you do not have to be there because there is no reason to.
On the title on back, lower righthand column, it says "co-seller's Name" and "Co-seller's signature" if you have 2 different people on the front of the title, both must complete their portion and sign. If you are the buyer and have a co-buyer, the top left and bottom right are sections for the co-buyer's name, address, driver lic #, and signature. Hope this helps.

While this is helpful, I would think that you shouldn’t have “pinned” a comment that states, “UPDATE: Everything worked out perfectly. All this information in this video is indeed accurate.” When the ONLY reason ALL the data is accurate is because your last name, according to the channel name, is “Rosenzweig” which starts with the letter “R”. Only someone watching this who had a last name starting with an “R” would be able to follow all the information in the bideo, as you suggested in the “pinned comment”. Any woman who has EVER changed their name could tell you that the first 5 digits of your license number changes according to your last name. I have had the pleasure of dealing with my license number changing 3 times. My adopted last name had: S1553(as did my mother’s), my married name had: C0371(if I remember correctly), and then when I went back to my birth name, it was W6193. This wouldn’t be too bad, except for the fact that, if someone follows your instructions and puts R in the space, they will run into issues when they inevitably have to alter it for the correct letter.
