Aren't they on a mission to use all Slayer's drummers at some point? This was a great show. At 51 - the most fun I've had in a long time. I missed Testament open for Slayer at the OK fairgrounds back in like 89-90 ish, spent too much time getting juiced in the parking lot. Finally checked all 3 Bay Strikes Back bands off the bucket list...
It really pissed me off Lombardo won't be performing at their first few shows of the upcoming Bay Strikes Back tour. I've waited so long to see him play with Testament. He's one of my all time favorite drummers like most fans. The Gathering is my favorite Testament album. I'd love to hear those songs live with Dave.
Chuck what's with the weak Yeah , Yeah you never used to do that!? Testament always kick ass , they're never a disappointment .......................................
Personally, I don't think Dave Lombardo's drums work very well in this band. Yeah I know it's him, but it just doesn't sound quite right to me. Something is amiss..
This was day 10 of the tour and according to Chuck Billy, he was given 20 songs to learn about 20 days before the tour started with about a week of rehearsal with the whole band...I think he did damned fine...
@@Controldenied0 Definitely not on the Hoglan and Bostaph era tracks. Clemente's stuff is pretty simple, but Hoglan's drumming is very complex, and Bostaph really tore it up on Formation of Damnation. Dave has a history of not really doing a great job at covering drum tracks in styles other than his own---he had trouble with relatively simple Paul songs in Slayer like Dittohead.
His solos aren't the weakest link of any metal band of the genre. He's pretty much a thrash legend and you.... you're just a hater in a UA-cam comment section.
Their soundcheck is better than most band's live shows.
Its amazing that there are still sound men out there that can mix a kick drum like that and think its all good.
Lombardo blessing us with his mastery! Horns up for the vid, Ed.⛧🤘
Damn. Chuck sounds so damn much like remember from my childhood.

I lost teeth at that fairgrounds show!
Bostaph and Lombardo have been in Testament, not sure about Dette though, I know he played in Anthrax for a while
This is incredible! Thanks for sharing!!! \m/ \m/
That was awesome. Thanks for sharing!
Sounds so good!🤘🏻🔥🔥✨
🤘🏼🤘🏼
Steve with a fretted bass is blowing my mind. I'm not used to it at all, after a 3 string fretless in years past.
Thanks for sharing, man! (Y)
Awesome to be a fly on the wall...thanks

hey man, they aint kids anymore.
What’s the point of the mask? Under the chin? Just take it off dude.
Hardly enough room for the stage, lights are going to hit them in the head
Odd looking venue
It looks like it used to be a combo dancehall/rollerskating rink or some combination of either of neither rink at some point...

I agree, I don’t believe he is going to be in the band long, I think even chuck billy said we’ll see what happens.
Under-utilised

Probably not with the older stuff but everything Low and after is more suitable.

Skolnick's college girl, sjw vibe is the weakest link!!!!
@Manish Mims Ya gotta be in the Information Age, lest ye be canceled.

@@fishguru73 He's a virtue signaling wind bag with a quirky stage presence. James Murphy was better. But I am indeed, a hater.
