    That was awesome 👌
    The people though 😳
    Seeing the monkey was quite a treat I'm sure.
    Thanks for sharing Rockie 👍

      I heard you gotta put your name in a drawing to camp/hike at some places in Yosemite / Yellowstone. It's F'd up. As shocked and -- lets be honest, disapointed I was. I'm still gratfeul I could go. Now I know.. & I clearly remembered George Carlin was a god. :) Thanks.

      Thank you so much, Terry. Everyone wants to visit the valley. But how many want to go into the mountains? Seperates the men from the boys. On this trip I feel like I stayed with the children. Get 'em next time! :)

      Yeah the crowds. Put a bit of a damper on this trip. I don't know why I thought otherwise. You live and learn but I'm still happy I could see such stunning views. Thank you so much, Craig! :)

    Incredible beauty in that valley! Cant wait to see it from a mountain peak or two. The monkey looked like he was the boss of that river bank. Would also like to see the river flows during the peak of Spring melt and run off. Awesome get away for you two.

    Ugh! The Kamikochi crowds. Don't expect to lose them at elevation either. Especially not in the fall. Mid-week is probably your best bet. Good to see you back in the hills. Gotta catch up on your hot wheels vids.

    • @rockeastwood
      @rockeastwood 2 роки тому +1

      I always imagined Kamikochi as a magical place. The Yosemite of Japan. It has completely lost its luster. I still would like to go up - and absolutely the landscape is pristine. But honestly I’m moving Yatsugatake range, particularly Akadake higher up my list before I got back to Kamikochi. It was out of control with crowds. Thanks! Rockie

    Nice hike! Nice survey. I could remember my trip almost 45 years ago. Nature looks no change but more people now, Hope you will get the ridgeline of Hodaka mountains next time.

      Hmmm I'm not so sure I'll ever go back. I'm glad to see it but afterall it's maybe not my style. Hard to avoid the crowds nowdays isn't it? Not just Japan but all over the world. I want to buy my own land in Yamanashi. I found a good one for $20,000. Then notbody can stop me from being alone.

    What a fabulous 2 days Mr. R! Awesome hike even if the campground was a little full! It reminds me of a place called Ennerdale here in the Lakes. I guess the wildlife are used to humans, that monkey wasn't bothered at all! As you rightly say after a long day hiking anything tastes good, that food sure did look yummy though! I'll look forward to your return. Atb Anthony
