Yeah cool little knife.. not at $300.
Yea no kidding. Apparently ppl like to price gauge nowadays way too fn much. Lower your prices!
I really need to charge more when I get back into it this spring... Decided to go 'legit' with a 9-5 to have actual money and an excuse to ride when it's not snowing... But the last couple of years, the market has taken off to support stuff like this, factory made at handmade prices.
I would have charged $200, hand stitched leather sheath and a real hamon in 5160... I'll have to try to get a hamon on A2!
It IS an inspiring design, though.
I like the dude and his goat..
I like White River..
But his designs look like very expensive steak knives in my kitchen drawer, just with g10 and super steels lol
Yeah same. I can’t get steak knife out of my head that’s all it looks like to me
@Jmon808 for real
A beauty like that deserves a nice leather sheath.
@@josephwhiskeybeale I sure think so
Loving that blue finish cool knife!
We need another full collection video
Nice little but big EDC knife that can still be concealed fairly easily....Good stuff....
Yessir 💪🏼😎
Love the "nail fake!" 😄 Great knife option.
It is a knife that just gets it right. It does not pretend to be anything else. Definelty on my to buy in the future list.
Probably make a good kitchen paring knife.
Excelent! Thanks for sharing and BTW... I myself call them and actualy make wood shavings for fire starting... And they work! Tried to make feather sticks and never achived to make an acceptable one... So wood shavings for me😊😊
lol. I guess as long as the fire starts in the end
@peterbiltknifeguy That's it... Never mind the road since it takes to the point 😄😄👍👍
Nice!
Cold Bluing (chemical patina) tool steel's seems like the best way to protect them from corrosion, but few people consider doing it. I've been doing it for years. It won't work on stainless steel though.
Well that’s a great story about the sharpening choil and not wanting to have one 😂. I hate to let ya down but you’re going to have to put one in; that’s if you like a sharp knife🤣.
Every knife maker that pulls this is asleep at the wheel. Every knife maker should check out A GREAT Eastern Cutlery folder and see what a proper sharpening choil should look like. Well that’s just like my opinion man … pace ✌️
I like the knife in the leather sheath. I'm kinda tired of everything in Kydex. Nice EDC knie. Better without the sharpening choil.
@@wyomingadventures yessir. I agree. And just subscribed 👍
@peterbiltknifeguy thank you.
Kinda reminds me of my Canadian made Grohmann Bird and Trout knife. But yeah, nail test that sucker.
I’ve only been following you for like a month or two, so I don’t know if you have ramped up your content a lot in the last couple months but I’m so curious how you explain all these knife purchases to the wife 😂
🤣 good question. Luckily my channel makes me a little coin to get more knives and like this knife. It was sent to me by a friend
Nail test.
300$ no f-ing way
It's 215 without the hand made custom leather sheath fwiw
@Thepreppersbunkeroutdoors it's a great knife i should have said that first. But for 300 with sheath there are so many options.
I mean no disrespect.
@bronco1199 it's not 300 with a sheath, it's 215.
The factory kydex sheath is fantastic.
If someone wants to buy the leather sheath from a small business that specializes in some of the best leather in the industry it's going to cost them whether they buy from me or him or anyone else 🤷♂️
@@Thepreppersbunkeroutdoors understood thank you for the information
@@bronco1199 no prob!
How are you wearing the Kizer Smolts? I noticed that you have the Ulticlip upside down? I’m curious how you EDC your Kizer Smolts?
It’s ran upside down inside my overalls
Needs to be bigger.... I know that's not the point. I just love medium and big fixies. 5.5 or longer on the blade and at least an inch high...
He has the mutant.
@@peterbiltknifeguy no, he advertises it, but it actually hasn't been in stock ever... Yes, I know it has been 1 time....
@@nothim7321ekat is a useless "company" that doesn't actually make anything
@nothim7321 that was the first production run, so you are correct it has only been available in the current configuration 1 time.
Subsequent runs will be larger and won't sell as fast.
A spyderco muleteam in aeb-l with scales and leather sheath comes in quite a bit less than that. Not gonna lie i love my mules though im kinda biased
👍👍👍
5 more and you have a good set of stake knifes.
Ypu should do a nail cut with the ursus 45 and fc5
I live in Florida and always have really sweaty hands. I was wondering if you think gun bluing would work well on a Maxamet Paramilitary 2? I really love the non stainless tool steels but mainly stick with the stainless steels with high edge retention. I really like 15v and k390 but unless I just go ahead and dip them in vinegar It will bother my ocd getting rust spots.
I’m not sure
Cold Bluing tool steels is the best way to protect them from corrosion IMO, but few consider it.
I think it would work on maxamet. It works on k390
@MB-jg4tr Thank you for the info. I think I'm going to give it a try on a PM2 Maxamet.
@@BenCase88 my pleasure, I always wondered why more people didn't do such, I've been doing it for years. But I also understand why it's not a mainstream practice.
@BenCase88 make sure to clean the blade off really well with alcohol first, and buff out any imperfections. Then heat the blade up for a little while(10 minutes) before applying the compound(hair dryer works well), you want to take moisture out of the steel, and heating expands the steel which makes more gaps/space for compound to get into, it tends to produce a darker more uniform finish that will last longer.
If the (trigger warning) transition ~ area between the blade & handle are designed properly & you properly choke up on the handle you cannot get material caught in a sharpening choil. On that knife- i would probably add a sharpening choil & bring the edge back. Seems suboptimal. In defense of that, though, i have cut my hands several times cutting laminated cardboard - with the freshly cut cardboard edge - as i was going down it.
Sorry brother love your channel and that's a nice knife but way to expensive for what it is..
I happen to think it’s a decent price for a USA knife. I know it’s still expensive
@peterbiltknifeguy I mentioned aeb-l in another post because it performs very similar to A2 steel and is currently available for comparison in price. . Very different knife design though but still thin and slicey. Mule teams a are sprint runs only so kinda like custom knife.
We doin steak knives now?
🤦🏻♂️
PIMPIN THAT OVERPRICED CRAP.
Definitely not crap.
Definitely overpriced.
