Thank you. The lady hens sure like there new space that's for sure. The grinder was no doubt a good farm investment. I got a good buy on it and it paid for itself in the first year from the saving of not having to buy from my local feed mill.

Thank you. I'm happy how it turned out and more importantly the hens seem to love their new space. Grinding feed is something that always intrigued me as a kid. I always liked the process of it, hearing the machine work and seeing the finished product. Like making my own hay, grinding my own feed was something I knew I wanted to do myself for our farm since day one. It's a bonus that it saves the farm money as well.

Ever consider a skid steer quick attach for that tractor? I converted our Ford 3000 with a front end loader over to a skid steer quick attach and it's about the handiest thing imaginable

Ya it's on the list of I wants for the farm. Hopefully sometime next year. I want a set of pallet forks, bale spear and a manure bucket to start with. Rate now I make due with what I have. I built the pallet forks I have to be 3 pt. So, I don't want to modify those any in case I ever want them on the back again.

Good job on the framing! Question for you. I have 560 IH that I had the fast hitch cylinder rebuild. Ever since the cylinder will only go all the way up or down but can’t get it to stop in any other position. Right now I have the lines reversed and the lever loose that positions the cylinder valve control. If I manually move it, I can position it where I want. Any ideas?

The hen house looks like it will be hot in the summer

The roof peak and the eves are vented and the clear panel on the door is removable to allow for air flow. The chickens are out on pasture in the summer months, so they spend most there time outside anyways and not inside. I went with clear plastic to allow natural sun light in to help keep them warm in the winter months when they are more likely to want to be inside.

When ya gonna come pull some teats? Grind feed yay, every 3-4 days here. Putting in the protein/mineral concentrate is the hard part. Into a galvanized wash tub out of a gravity wagon.

I don't pull teats. lol Thats why I raise beef cattle. I bet you have to grind every few days. You have just a few more head than I do. I see they were combining corn in the flats next to the creek last night. I'm guessing it pretty muddy back in there judging by mud in the road coming out of the laneway. Is that you or Eckert's back in there?

@Cobbhillfarms eckerts but I used to work it. I picked down on my flats yesterday, muddy on top but no trouble at all. However, I haven't plowed those fields in quite awhile just disk
