Thanks man. I tried driving once with my dad when I basically just had gotten permission to before 17 years old.. now I'm about 18.5 years old and still haven't driven more than that one time. My dad wasn't that amazing at telling me what to do(no shame on him there, it's muscle memory) so this'll help when I start again
Hey there! Thanks for leaving a comment, and I'm glad to hear that our video could be helpful for you. Don't worry at all about not having driven much yet - everyone learns at their own pace. It's totally normal to feel a bit nervous or unsure when you're first starting out, especially if you didn't have much guidance the first time you tried. But with a bit of practice and some good instruction, I'm sure you'll be cruising around in no time! Just take things one step at a time, and don't be too hard on yourself if you make mistakes along the way. Keep at it, and before you know it, driving will be second nature. Best of luck to you!
Im watching your videos over a year now and its very informative... Your videos really helps me during my practice in driving school and I passed to get my drivers license last May... Im still learning and your videos are helpful... thanks
That’s the problem I had. I never learnt how to move slow, so one time on my way from work, I almost cause a rear end accident, that’s when I decided to look up this video, was really helpful 👍

lovely useful video as ever. very well demonstrated, filmed, edited and voice overed. Also really nice as im a chris too. thanks for all your hardwork, you should have a KO-fi or 3 from me as a thanks
I find that if I do this, I prefer to step the clutch all the way down to the floor to slow down, which I would assume is better anyway because less time on the biting point. I feel I do this smoother than trying to slow down by only stepping down the clutch a coin thickness, especially when doing it on a hill. The moment I step down a coin thickness while still on the throttle and on a hill, my car throttle shoots up quite a bit (compared to flat ground, car is throttle cable and old school). Then when I raise the clutch up to move forward again, it seems like I would be putting a bit too much wear on the clutch than need to be.
Lets say they is a boom gate you need to stop and press for it to open, do you stop in gear or go back to neutral. Bear in mind it takes less than 4 seconds for it to open
If it's less than 4 seconds then you might as well keep in gear, but select neutral if there's a chance that you might release the clutch accidentally when pressing the button.
Would you be able to make a video where you are downshifting from a higher gear say 3rd down to 2nd or 4th down 2nd where you are turning at a junction or a green light traffic either right/left just to see how your footworks please?Thank you!
1st is used for very slow driving. Normally between about 0 to 10mph. Nothing wrong with changing down to 1st, as long as you slow down to a speed suitable for 1st before changing.
I failed my driving test couple of days ago because I touched the kerb during the bay reverse, twice and did not answer correctly to the question How do you check your cars brake fluid 😞
"Don't release the clutch too much or it can overpower the parking brake and the car will move when you don't want it to or stall. You just want to feel the back of the car dipped slightly." Must have being set in capital letters as it is a key phrase settling doubts. Initially, i doubted "this clutch down, change gear ,a little gas, clutch up to biting point then hand brake down." method of driving off. Aren't a combination of biting point & a little gas strong enough to move off a car from standstill, i used to ask myself many questions ?
On a four cylinder car we need not use throttle to move slowly, especially on diesel vehicles. We need to give throttle only if the vehicle is on a incline. By giving throttle even to move on a flat surface or road, we will end up burning the clutch way too early. Which is not good. And even the mileage will drop...
A lot of new drivers get used to not using the gas when driving their instructors new diesel car. But when they buy their first (sometimes small petrol) car they end up stalling a lot as they're not used to using the gas pedal.
aaaah there is my doubt resolved! yes, to accelerate really slow the trick is that its the clutch controls the speed, not the gas pedal! I thought the car wouldn't move until the clutch was completely removed
I drove for over 25 years in Canada. I'm now doing my UK test in December. Any advice specific to learning on the other side of the road after all this time ? I've taken a few lessons but it's very strange still, my natural instincts are all opposite.
I totally understand that driving in this country will feel unnatural, especially on the other side of the road. Some of our rules and driving routines will probably make it even more strange for you. The best advice is to get lots of practice and listen to your instructor who is in the best position to help you. Wish you all the best with your driving test.

1:34 "pound coin thickness" Jesus fucking christ. Why did they make them so fucking sensitive? Why the fuck is it so compilacted to begin with. Imo driving should be like in video games - one button for acc, one for brakes, and thats it, fuck off with everything else. Instead we have to balance these fucking incredibly sensitive levers and if you dont do it perfectly car either stalls or makes weird noises. It feels like Im learning to drive 17th century steam engine instead of modern everyday vehicle. Amazing video, very well explained. Sorry for my angry rant, Im just so shit at driving
dude you are not mentioning of changing to higher gear when you accelerate or else those who are learning following this would continue in first gear as per the video
Dude, this video just focuses on the clutch to keep it simple and not to make it too long. Have a look at our other videos on how to change gear and drive a manual car 👍
does this wear the clutch out much more ? must be right cant be good holding clutch halve way and giving gas meanwhile ? im a beginner driver thnks for the helpfull video

Does lifting or pressing the clutch a little past the biting point wear out the clutch and should it be worrying?
I don't think so, but holding it longer than necessary can wear it out.
Thank you sir I have passed my driving test today
Congratulations on passing your driving test. Keep up the safe driving and enjoy it 👍
i just gave this video a thumb up because i wanted to
Does creeping slowly like this have any negative effect on the longevity of the clutch?
It can increase wear
Useful skill BIG TIME. Someone get that man a new pair of shoes!

@@worlddriving so do i press the clutch all the way in or halfway to prevent the car from stalling
All the way@@munyaradzimunodawafa7745

Does having the clutch on the biting point for long periods cause damage?
It will increase wear over time if you kept doing it.
Can I use the clutch only to move slowly...especially when reversing in a small passage?
Yes, use clutch control when reversing slowly 👍
In slow moving traffic, and doing this often, would this not burn the clutch?
Just get the biting point for short periods of time.
I passed my test this morning 🎉
Yessss! Congratulations. Keep up the safe driving and enjoy it 👍
Can you also do this while in second gear?? I hear it’s not good to downshift to 1st

how can i keep this slow speed in the long time please ??? and i have a second question can i move car with 1 km / h and keep this speed ?
will it not overheat the clutch?..
I failed my driving test couple of days ago because I touched the kerb during the bay reverse, twice and did not answer correctly to the question How do you check your cars brake fluid 😞
Can you fail for not signalling at junction
In my instructors car I never use the gas to creep as it’s never stalled before so is that okay ?
If it works then fine but petrol cars and older cars do stall more easily if you don't press the gas.
Isnt this called riding the clutch which will wear out your clutch bearing and itself faster?
It's the only way to go slower than 5mph. The clutch is tough and you only press it for short periods of time.

Ok you have creep mode don't use race pedal to move car from stationary position when you are beginners.
