    Engineering is a strange beast. Each passing year, more little parts find their way into the design. By 2040 I imagine we'll be seeing bikes and cars built out of Lego blocks. Thanks for the demo. Stay well.

      😂😂😂 engineers don't have to work on their own designs! They try to make it as hard as possible for the common folk to work on things!

    Your video was very informative. I really don’t see the advantage of a partial fender. I haven’t bought a Rally yet but I will put on a full fender when I do. I’ll keep up with your channel. Thanks.

    Well I changed my rally fender out today, I raised the front part of my fender about 1/2 “ by just drilling the 3 front holes down lower, before mounting the Ace fender on. Believe it gave significant clearance to the install. Also be VERY CAREFUL removing any plastic panels, as they are very FRAGILE, especially the plastic tabs, and good luck finding a glue that will bond to the type of plastic. And OP Thanks for posting.

      How would putting a fender on it change how it rides 🤔

  • @7up761
    @7up761 4 роки тому +3

    You have cleared up an issue that many (like me) thought would be an easy fix .
    This is a bad design fault for the Rally , along with the ugly wheels (IMnsHO) !
    I have wanted the 900ACE from the start - but a very low mileage Rally has appeared at the right price 🤔 etc etc 🥴
    I am hoping the pros outweigh the cons🤓
    Thank You for the video 🙃
    Aus thanks you . . . . . . .

    Great video. Couple of things I've learned is you do not need to take all the lights apart. Just the right brake light. As for the rivets they are 3/16 but small will be too short. I got the medium length. Lining up the caliper at the end of the job I found it was easier to put the top bolt in first and the second one was a easy.

    Thanks for taking the time. Just two suggestions on wheel removal: 1) Torque wrenches should not be used to loosen nuts - that’s what a breaker bar is for. 2) I think you removed the spring clip from the wrong end - one reason it went flying.

    • @alrighteeyore6764
      @alrighteeyore6764  3 роки тому

      I sure did remove the clip wrong 😆 my bad but it was wedged in there too.

    • @bubbajeph
      @bubbajeph 2 роки тому +1

      I too cringe every time I see some one using torque wench as a breaker bar. If you do not have a breaker bar, use a ratchet with an extended pipe to add force.

    Great video buddy. Two millimeters is pretty darn close. I was telling myself, get a pair of needle nose pliers to remove that retaining clip on the rear lug nut. I've had several instances, with flying snap rings and retaining clips. Excellent demonstration on the process. Stay safe my friend 🤝

      Thanks brother! That clip was wedged in between the castle nut and wheel bearing. They are much easier to pull off but I just pulled the wrong end lol

    Nice I like the fender but not liking the work that goes in it LOL. The tire seem really close to the fender but when it comes time to change the tires I might go with the non rally ones. What do you think?

      As long as you ryde more on the asphalt, I see nothing wrong with that. I ryde a lot of dirt so I am liking the dirt tires. Have not got any rocks wedged yet! Have a great night and stay safe!

    With the right tools getting the tire off doesn't seem that bad. Alot easier than my Spyder for sure. There's so much more I have to remove if I want to get the tire off. The fender looks good. No rubbing on it?

    • @alrighteeyore6764
      @alrighteeyore6764  4 роки тому +1

      Spyders have a ton extra to deal with, like the belt, double sided swing arm etc. It is pretty easy on this machine but most people dont know and I hope I made a video that is useful to those that are wondering. For me there is no rubbing. Spring is very tight and reservoir is set at 3. But I'm going to have to hit a pothole going pretty fast to test it out lol

  • @jnick67a

    Curious how the rub is if any? I have a Rally and I have been thinking about converting but I am a big guy. At the same time if you download the instructions from BRP on installing the Solo Comfort seat on a Rally they instruct you to swap to an ACE fender and also so say goodbye to the Max Mount.

    I've been looking at buying one of these but I've wondered what happens when you have a FLAT TIRE especially on the back? Is there even a place for a SPARE and all the tools necessary to change the tire? What a weird choice for a lug instead of the standard lug nuts. I would think this machine would be a perfect application for the Michelin Run Flat Tires (if they can/could take the speeds). I would hate to be on an interstate trip far away from home and have a flat... Seems like a disaster. Can anyone answer these questions?

    • @alrighteeyore6764
      @alrighteeyore6764  4 роки тому +1

      There is no spot for a spare unless you fabricated one. I have a bag that I keep some tools in but not enough space for everything. I never considered the run flat tires. That might be something to look into. I did get a flat on the front tire due to cold weather and I was close enough to home that my wife brought me out my compressor. I did take it on a 300 mile road trip once and it did good other than having to fuel up every 100 miles.

    • @jamesglenn520
      @jamesglenn520 3 роки тому

      You call your insurance company and they will coordinate a tow truck. Same as riding any other bike or about half the newer cars with no spare tire.

    We have owned Ryker Rallies since spring of 2019. l'm curious to know what is the purpose or the big hype about trying to make it look like the Ace.
    Why not just buy the Cheaper model to begin with?
