What a brilliant video! And, man, what an evolution the Land Rover Defender has gone through! I practically learned to drive in one! It was about the third Land Rover my family had owned (we had a farm) and this was the 'modern' one. This was back in the late nineties. Five speed manual, 90-inch wheel base, and windows that ROLLED UP AND DOWN! Not like the previous ones, with the sliding windows. Slower than an asthmatic ant with some heavy shopping, about as reliable as I am with deadlines, and truly magnificent. LOVED it. One of my favorite memories was taking it to Plymouth and trying to park it in a multi-story parking garage. Drove through the entrance and DONG, the cage on the top hit the height restriction sign. Yet, being a reckless young 'un, I drove in and parked anyway. Which would have been fine until I went to leave - and couldn't fit through the exit! I had to go and buy a wrench and take the roof cage off to be able to drive through (No offense, Land Rover of Princeton, but I don't think you can do that with your one.) The incredible thing about the Defender was that it existed practically unchanged from the end of World War II until the last of the magnificent originals rolled off the production line. In 1963 my father and his friends drove a Series IIA 109-inch wheelbase from London to Pakistan and it was practically the same vehicle as I learned to drive in during the 1990s. My parents switched to Volvo when they lived in East Africa, but Land Rovers and Land Cruisers were your only options for 'serious' vehicles. The motto remains: "If you want to look good, you drive a Land Rover. If you want to get there, you drive a Land Cruiser." I have VERY mixed feelings about the new Defender, because it is undeniably a BEAUTIFUL vehicle with all sorts of stylistic throwbacks I appreciate. But it's sleek and fuel-efficient and reliable and redheads can't take it apart like it was made out of Lego. It's not quite the same vehicle. It's better in every tangible way, but I miss what used to be. Brilliant video, David! And great job Land Rover of Princeton providing that stunning car for the shoot!
Hot take that no one has ever said before about this vehicle: It’ll never compare to the real defender that it replaced... This new one is what the Discovery used to be, a hardcore, comfortable off-roader. But it’s not a Defender.
Wow you have the whole Scooby gang there! Can we expect a mega show coming up? They couldn't have been there just for the Defender. Did you drive them all home afterwards?
No. sorry.. the seating configuration is either the standard 5 seat or 6 seat (+1 middle jump seat) or 7 Seat (+2 at rear) however +1 and +2 at the same time is not possible., its either 5 6 or 7 seat. the 8 seat will be the Defender 130 coming "soon" Tm.
A great review and nice looking car, but it is not a 'Defender' in the true use of the name. It is nothing like a true Defender, which is a Farm type vehicle used for carrying, Dogs, Sheep, bales of hay etc. It is also out of the price range of the average farmer. It is just another Range Rover.
Did you take it for a spin? It drives well and has a decent amount of power. Nice sound from the 6 cylinder. And it pull good out of a river! ua-cam.com/video/wPWrD_BiY6o/v-deo.html
Ugh! It's hideous! I hate SUVs! Just the look of them makes me want to vomit! And, I think I can guess the size of the driver's naughty bits when I see someone driving such a behemoth. Can't Bond stick with nice, sleek, sexy sports cars?

Nice squirrel in the back at 1:52 I'm sure he's here to get a ride in the Defender
I have to get one of these, not even for it’s added beauty but the practicality of it.
Black is my favourite colour for Land Rover with silver lettering on the bonnet.
And I couldn’t stop looking at the Aston 🤤
And I couldn`t stop looking at the Lady ! ;-)
Danielle looked well eager to take it for a spin.
Love the personable nature of the salesdude. Awesome service.
nice metal box with wheels
Wonderful car(s) , presented in a very charming way, thank you, Sir ! Salut, Tom/Germany :-)
You don't happen to have a Bond movie ranking on you're channel, right?
Just thank you
I worked for Jaguar/Land Rover in England. They are extremely well made vehicles. In England these are known as Chelsea Tractors!

Yes it is it says it on the bonnet.

This video peaked my interest into looking into the vehicle down the line.
Defender respect from a G-Class owner (featured in Spectre). These are sharp!!
Great video!
Bad boys, bad boys, whatchya gonna do......! That is a bad boy machine and no foolin'!

I agree. The price increase alone completely kills a huge audience for this car.
What , Has no one noticed that Olson is young Richard Kiel ?? Imagine him with the steel teeth that’s all am saying , Great stuff as normal by the way
Hello all the way from Pennsylvania.

Who else got a real 70s New York vibe from Nolan?
I'm such a tree hugger- I can't wait to see the electric one!
Same here. Green energy all the way for me.
@@treadstone1970 Once electric cars get sexier - I'm talking the lovechild of a DB5 and a tesla :-D - then we're in a new era!

this is a villains car, not bonds. as far as we know.
@@DestroyersGarage In that case, it's appropriate.
What the hell is this comment.
