When Ayurveda says old food should not be consumed, it was written with the assumption 3000+ years back that there was no refrigeration availabe and food kept outside would get spoilt. If it was indeed present then I am pretty sure Ayurveda would have included that as well. People automatically assume that just because its ancient hindu scripture it means its totally averse to anything new while reality was very different, Ayurvedic scholars in ancient times even identified many foreign vegetables and included them in the ayurvedic diet. The axle wheel, gold, ruby, iron, etc everything was invented at some point and happily embraced by the religion. For its time it was as modern as it got, don't know where we went wrong and stagnant and started hating on new stuff calling new as being worse.

While a new scientific research of every decade will tell you new stuff, like it may add another or two vitamins that looses with time along with vitamin C and B. Plus why are we ignoring the mixture of CFC gas of refrigerators. Dont we have any scuentific claim for that.

You can cook all the fresh food you want as long as you’re no wasting extra food by just throwing it away because it’s 1 day old. Just be very mindful while cooking everyday. Also it’s easy to say that fresh food is the only acceptable form of consumption, but when you’ve to cook for your family 3 times a day with a full time job and no help, it’s very very difficult. Ok ... These are matters of cleanliness and proper handling of food . You're supposed to boil the damn milk before consuming or freezing . If pasteurized or boiled milk gets sour , no problem at all! They are the lactobacillus, good for guts. How do you think we make curd ? By warming up the sour milk !
Keep the bread clean and dry , store in a dried container, and don't keep them for a month and it won't be mouldy .
You've to warm up the food really well and then freeze it in a clean container, that's how it will stay good . The taste of the regular food isn't supposed to change for the worse the very next day . But chicken masala, khichdi, kheer etc tastes even better the next day as the ingredients absorb the spices evenly .

@@lonewanderer8414the life of the food, enzymes in it that increase the bioavailability of the nutrients when you eat it. The microbiome in it that survives in room temperatures but might get inactivated/dead if frozen. Then we also have to consider that the gases in fridge, especially in an average household where we seldom do regular maintenance, also get adsorbed on the food surfaces.
Just because you put the fruit or vegetable inside the fridge, doesnt mean its bio-clock at the cellular level has turned off. There are intricate lifecycle stages that continue to happen. All a fridge does is inhibit pathogens from eating the food and breeding on it.
Even that there is no guarabtee. It doesnt eliminate it completely. You are one mouldy food item in your fridge away from spoiling all of them without any visual indication, and then eating it unsuspectingly.
Apart from this, from a culinary stand point also, no decent restaurant will ever serve you frozen food that they just heated up. Most of their preparation is fresh.
It is because we innately know fresh food is more palatable. It has better aroma, better texture and better color.
All these are necessary for our senses to kick in the digestion process even before we put it in our mouth.
This person is cherry picking. There are many foods even in ancient recipes that were preserved and not eaten fresh. Some are actually known for becomig healtheir the more you let it sit.
In fact, many of our recipes today ferment foods which again increases its microbiome profile which aids trememndously in your digestion, giving you better absorbtion of the available nutrients.
Plants actually have anti nutrients in them too. For their defense mechanism, they also give off harmful chemicals. One could argue the microbiome on the food matter that we have evolved thousands of years with under specific weather conditions, may as well be helping to breakig down those harmful anti nutrients.
Then there is also the very obvious fact that once you've already cooked your food, and you put it in the fridge, then you heat it again, it will obviously lose more nutrients because of getting heated again. Even the texture comes off different.
This pseudo intellectual with his ambition to belittle ayurveda or common household wisdom overlooked all of these very blatant facts and observations.
There is not one study which takes a wholesome look at these factors together.
If something works, and has a histiry of thousands of years of working, dont fix it. Especially when the defense of a complete shift in lifestyle is "there is not enough evidence directly proving this is unhealthy for you yet" and the studies get funded by massive corporations who want to sell you a fridge, want to sell you processed and packaged garbage that harms you and the enviornment.
They want to hegemonise the food supply chain because it makes people so much more strongly dependent. So they shit on traiditonal practices which encourage you to be in control and be mindful.

Eating stale home cooked food is anyday better than eating mass prepared 'healthy food' in restaurants & office canteens. Most people who claim to eat healthy food outside gradually shift to absolute unhealthy food bcoz they get addicted to the mental stimulation provided by variety of foods available. Ask any individual who has really worked on transforming his/her health & fitness and you will be surprised by how basic and consistent their meals & eating patterns are.

I find it perplexing that some individuals can't recognize that there isn't a singular path to achieving good health. Various methods can lead to the same goal. Those who claim that food loses prana and those who use modern approaches to analyze nutrient loss are both correct in their own contexts. This is because those following the concepts of satvic, rajas, tamsin, and prana are operating within a different framework than those who don't. Instead of conflict, I see these as parallel pathways. The speaker in this video comes across as inflexible, and it's important for him to understand the origins of these comments. At the same time, individuals following a satvic diet should acknowledge that their approach to nutrition isn't the only one, and they should be more open to alternative paths to nutrition.

People will eat processed and packed food which might be a month old preserved with a lot of chemicals. We need to understand that times have changed.People now have less time to cook and to maintain other things compared to the old times when people had a lot of time. So it's better if you already have something healthy cooked, homemade stored in your fridge then to order something from food ordering apps. What will a person do if he has freaking 9-5 job and has to travel atleast 1hour. Where will he/she get time to do other things like spending time with family, workout, sometime for self if he/she is going to spend half of his time in kitchen. Apparently according to Ayurveda even using mixer is not a healthy thing should we go back to using stone motor-pestle grind imagine doing this for a family of five! The person will forever stay in kitchen. He is talking about practicality here. We live in a fast-paced life, not everyone has the privilege of someone cooking three times hot piping meals for us. People who are saying ohh goodluck with this disease and that disease do you have any proofs that microwave can cause cancer. Studies also say processed sugar causes cancer. All we can do is limit the use of fridge and microwave.

As a science student.. i have following with respect to eating food in fridge ..
    1. Our brain and stomach feel more satiated when served hot, fresh cooked food .
    2. At 0 temp or below the cells of fruits or food go into sleeping mood, where no respiration takes place, ultimately when eaten after placing them outside, the cells dont have active working going on in them, thus leading to low nutrients uptake.
    3. As a human being, we are not here only to work for big companies or have full materialistic life, we are here to enjoy and cherrish and home cooked meal helps in it. U feel more rejuvenated if u cook ur meal and for others too.
Its so sad, that with every technological advancement human are having more lesser times for themselves.
Its my opinion, i rest my case here.

These days getting organically grown food is expensive. So fermenting pickling is a good option .

Its funny how we've completely forgotten the culture that guided our country. Anyways, purana khana kisi ke lie bhi achha nahi hi, fir bhi aap kha sakte ho. Log toh maggi par bhi Zinda hai. It doesn't mean it is the "ideal", it is just you being lazy.
It's not about nutrients, it's about the entropy. It's called "tamsik". Would you yourself not choose freshly squeezed juices and freshly cut salads??
As far as microwaves are concerned, I'm not aware of what the science behind this is, but it does change the nature of food, marginally.

with so many years of evolution we are still struggling to figure out what to eat, how to eat, how much to eat?
Can we move ahead? Our ancestors have already done these jobs. Follow what your family eats. We are anyway gonna die. Even if you keep yourself healthy still you can die due to cancer, accidents, crimes, heart attacks.
Your lifestyle can still get hampered by things or activities other than just wrong eating.
Just enjoy & let others enjoy with peace & not panic.

Stored food looses it's dielectric constant (electric capacitance). This is an scientifically unexplored territory and I believe that it might effect digestion. And on the other hand reheating using microwave causes loss of probiotic goodness. The best way to avoid the killing good bacteria in food would be to add probiotic ingredients after heating in the micro wave.
