Jasmine, your mom is very articulate, knowledgeable and intelligent. No wonder she's passed it on to you ( Okoto enwo Anoma 🦀🕊). I'm happy she agreed to come out to share this with us....this is priceless.
God bless you in abundantly. You seem to have the love of God deeply rooted in You.Do carry on for The Lord is with you.Apart from everything else, it's all by God's Grace. Amen.
This is priceless conversation. You have a great mum who took the best decision in the interest of you and your brother. Her responses were very spot on and honest. You never get things wrong listening to her successes, failures, challenges and experiences. You are blessed with such a mum. I feel so happy seeing you both together sharing these experiences. I can't stop watching this video. Great work done. Keep it up
Wow! You did a great job convincing your mom to be on camera. I remember she didn’t want anything to do with it when you first arrived in Australia. I enjoyed the interview and salivated for the kangaroo sandwich. Your relationship with your mom is very much respectful and lovely. I admire her eloquence and soft voice.
Ok…I’m cutting onions now too😢! This was so beautiful! What a candid conversation to have with your mother. I wish all Ghanaian mothers would initiate such conversations with their children. I definitely grabbed a few nuggets of wisdoms from Mummy. I’d love to see Mummy on your channel again. And her accent is super lovely! 💜💜
Learned 2 things: On the lite side, never knew kangaroo meat is eaten. And the awesomeness of your mother. She is the quintessential embodiment of all the universal qualities characteristic of a woman and a mother. Much love for and very proud of her . As much as possible, get her back to share life experiences and on any subject she wants to talk about.
Your mom is such an arabaa..such an eloquent speaker. She really has such a gentle clam aura about her...she seems like a lovely woman...as you do too 🤍
Your mum is a strong and good woman. Some mothers would have influenced their kids not to like their father after separation. May Allah bless her with good health and happiness!!
The hardest decisions are sometimes the best ones as your mum rightly stated. What she gave you is both/and, and not either/or, this has given you the confidence to be the Jasmine we all see and appreciate now👏🏾
Lots of respect to your Mum, because she did what most African mothers would not do by pouring her heart out to you on camera. I can relate so much to her situation as a Mother to 3 beautiful girls who lost their Dad at a very young age and I had to relocate with them to Denmark. Such conversations are very necessary between Mothers and their daugthers especially, so as to prepare them for the life ahead of them.
A great example of a woman making a very hard choice of putting herself first, getting an education. In the end, her family greatly benefitting from her wisdom and the choices she made.
I really Enjoyed watching you interact with your mom, all I saw was soooooo much love, she’s such a beautiful woman soft spoken just like you and I can tell she is soo proud of you as I am, I loved it when she was signing off with you, I’m in love with your braids and enjoying this trip with you so keep them coming, it’s funny how I feel you are home and closer to me while in Australia 🤣🙈😂 reminds me of when you first left, meanwhile we are thousands of miles apart, The Love Is Soo Deep.😘✌🏽❤️❤️❤️
Thanks so much to you both for sharing of yourselves. I'm so pleased to hear that being sent to Ghana worked out well for you and your brother. It seems the move was managed well. I tried to stay silent but for the sake of others, I need to show the other perspective. I believe the African and African-Caribbean practice of sending or leaving one's children in/to the home country to live with extended family or sometimes friends; can and often does long term emotional harm to the child. The impact of which can last into adulthood. This is part of my story, having experienced such a separation aged 10-15. When I was sent from the UK to Jamaica to live with extended family members. The repurcussions were enormous, my family did not handle things well and I experienced 5yrs of neglect and abuse whilst in Jamaica. I am now 57, it took decades to heal the wounds caused to me. In my work as a psychotherapist, I have come across numerous others struggling to live with the wounds which are rooted in similar separations. I judge no-one as I write here. But to any parent reading this, who is considering sending or leaving their child. I say, unless your child will come to harm from remaining with you. I suggest that under your love and care, is the best place for them. By keeping them by your side, you could well be saving them from a lifetime of heartache. Dr Elaine Arnold founded the Separation and Reunion Forum (UK) to look into this very issue. Once again I thank you Jasmine, for a thoughtful and thought provoking video. All my best, E
You have a point but for most Ghanaians, grandmas raise kids so long as they are alive whether you are in the country or not. I am an awesome mother but my mum and mother in law compliment my parenting duties. They are the over all Mamas. If you have a good mama, why not
Wow! So thankful she came on camera and shared food and life with us. Although she says she is camera shy, she was very eloquent and graceful. I enjoyed it. She is brave and much appreciated. Thanks Jasmine for sharing life in Australia with us.
Great vid. Your mother is sweet, wise and a good cook... Like a West African Auntie. LOL Can you imagine the fusion of Ghanaian and Australian cuisine? Kangaroo meat with Jollof Rice. Emu with Okra stew Banku and Wallaby 😆🤣😂
Who's cutting the damn onions in my apartment? I'm going to need a part 2 of another interview with mom. She's so intellectual and wise. I love her warm and loving energy. Not only is she beautiful but has a beautiful aura. I wish her many blessings in life 🙌🏿 ❤️⚘️

After watching I noticed your mom is a very honest woman, she was so truthful on her answering of your questions, hopefully she will one day meet a good honest person.

I was close to my mother and wish I could go shopping with her, have coffee together, listen to her advice. She has been gone since 1995, I am a older woman now and so glad a had a great mother, enjoy yours. One day all you will have are the memories and pictures. This is coming from an African- American woman in her early seventies who hopefully, God willing will visit Ghana for the first time in Dec. It has been on my bucket list and looking forward to it!
Wow Jasmine such a great video, your mum is so nice soft spoken like you, and l like the relationship advice she gave on self worth and self love, you don't go into a relationship to expect your Partner to make you happy!! I love you and mummy independent, much love from Grace Italy ❤️
Try cutting onions near the sink with the water running (a heavy trickle); the onion juice is attracted to water, and that's why your eyes water, the water from the tap will be more the water in your eyes--works like a charm. It's good that as an adult you are able to talk with your mum about the decisions she made and the relationship between your parents and allow her to clarify for you. Too many adult kids of divorce keep their focus on the negative aspects that may exist although they may know that hard decisions had to be made cognitively, the inner child gets grieved and may react negatively to those choices, and that can lead to a breakdown in their relationship with their parents
@@toakonouzoko9449 Absolutely right. I am a child of divorce, and I had to always be deliberate in handling matters that concerned my son and his dad because I didn't want to perpetuate any circles, so I had to be extra careful. I feel that I've been successful in that regard, by looking at every situation and trying my hardest to bring about a positive outcome; but being honest, I still question the level of success

This is definitely a must watch interview. Very spot on The questions were carefully delivered and the answers given just tells me there are still wonderful parents who make the best decisions to protect their children. So far this one of the best interviews I have watched on UA-cam.
Lovely interview with mum, sometimes as mothers you have to do what is best for you because way down the line they have to prepare the pathway for there children that's why most of them when leave their country for betterment and children comes before it's fulfil they would sent them back to there respectful country were they know they will be cared for until they pass the struggles and get on there feet, it happens all the time.
Your mom gave some great advice on relationships. A relationship with yourself is so important before getting involved with someone else. First grandma, now mom; bought has such beautiful sprites. Now we know part of what makes Jasmine who she is.❤️
What a fascinating family you are, I could listen to the two of you all day! Your mum has such an interesting life and a great way of sharing it, well done for convincing her to be on camera. She is a very wise person, I liked what she said about relationships very much, medase paaa to her!
