I live in Italy and here chub despite being very common are almost never eaten if not when they are fingerlings and only after deep frying. Having said this they are very smart fish once they reach a certain size and many people enjoy fishing them as they fight hard and it can be quite challenging
Thanks for sharing brother! Yeah, I will never eat one again, was more along of the lines of just trying it and seeing how it turned out. One of the subscribers on here mentioned that they can be pretty good eating if getting them from a clean flowing body of water, which is where o caught those two. I agree, seems like most of the big ones can be relatively difficult to fool.
I keep chubs and shiners in my aquarium as pets. I guess I'll have to catch some and try them as dinner. As a veteran meat cutter and someone who has worked in a seafood shop for decades, I can probably make these fish as delicious as any bass, walleye or bluegill. However, there ARE differences in meats and textures. Eye-of-round is a different texture and toughness compared to ribeye. Some fish are flaky and light and some are dense. Depends upon species and your palate.
@@TheFishingExpat you are only allowed to keep most fish up to 20cm in the uk , other than pike which is 65cm so they are maximum legal size to keep over here . no one realy eats river fish in the uk but i like to have a munch on them lol
Extremely disappointed my friend 😢 chub here in the UK grow to 5-7 lbs ......you caught babies lol ..... The thing I like about Sea fishing is literally you can eat anything you catch and it will taste great .......I'm going fishing this weekend .......fresh water fish here u chuck back in unless it's Trout .
I am from Romania and here we eat everything is alive from the water. The problem with eating chubs is related to its small and numerous bones. Other than that it is excelent ic the water is not heavily polluted.
Not my favorite..

It’s better to eat the babies than it is the bigger reproducing fish. I hope you caught some good ones!

Can’t see creek chubs tasting good from anywhere.
It wasn’t very good, soft and mushy meat 🤢
Looked like it tasted pretty good!
The flavor wasn’t bad, but the texture was a little mushy for my liking brother
