Get a nearly new one. About £37k at present. I'm on my second CRV. My mk3 diesel did 110k miles without any faults, my current mk4 diesel has covered 95k miles and only required a new high level brake light in 8 years.
Bullet proof reliability, lots of space, comfortable, good fuel economy. I'd definitely consider getting this one.
That’s the thing, I know they’re expensive but as an owner when you’ve had that experience with a car, it’s hard to look at something else.
I believe the used market in the UK is already proving these have been priced way too high. At the end of March UK Honda dealers were selling pre-reg PHEV models for £39k. Why would anyone pay £54k for a new one?
Honda's are great in many ways and I like that they are not too common on Irish Roads. However if I had over 60k to spend on a new car I'd buy the Toyota Rav4 plug in hybrid in Gr Sport trim for 7-9k cheaper than this and over 120bhp more. Plus factor in Toyotas 10 year warranty or 200k kms whichever comes first. Hard to beat that in my humble opinion. Great review as ever Nobby. Ps I love that your kids hand makes a cameo appearance 😅
I want a new Honda Accord. That would be something to get excited about.
You gonna lower it on 20’s? 😂
Great review and car, I am on my 3rd Crv and due to change next year, the price is just too much, nearly in lexus territory.... You could get two Dacia bigster for that price😮
For me, is it worth £54,000? Not a friggin’ chance.
In the UK, the CR-V e:PHEV is more expensive than the e:HEV, which isn’t the case in Ireland, and this is the most expensive Honda in the UK. Mental!
Check US prices, same vehicle... unbelievable how we became Autralia with car prices. Further more some EU manufacturers like VAG group are selling their cars even over 30 percent cheaper in China.
@@JohnyMcNeal The US doesn’t get the PHEV model. It’s only limited to China (where it’s built), the UK, EU and EFTA.
Excellent review Nobby. Best car reviewer on UA-cam.
We are currently in process of swapping our 21 Octavia, and I am a big fan of the new Civic, but checking prices, I was shoched.51 000e for Civic.
Ps we are getting facelifted Octavia in July.
It’s a really nice machine, looks quality and I suppose it should at this price. Either a pre-reg or a 1 year old version could be a good buy 👍👍
Prices in the US are in the region of $30-40k
Mark, excellent Review. Yes it is a Honda but the money is now La La land. As below surely the competitor is the Mazda CX-60? Or Volvo XC60? Okay it beats the c**p out of a Tesla whatever letter Musk has called his latest kid... poor child! Honda know the perception of the brand but this is getting silly. Just buy a Civic if you don't need the SUV over hyped space.
That’s some price for a Honda! Front lights are definitely off the Mazda SUV range 😂
Wow, you drove through Kansas!!!
price for not luxury brand are insane...even civic is crazy dear...
@NobbyOnCars those two mobile phone like holders you mentioned in the boot any chance they hold the emergency reflective triangle?
Really not sure at all. Seemed wider and at a weird angle for that.
Too expensive Nobby, buy a RAV 4 with €20K to spare!
I hear ya. Something about this though, I must admit.
I'll keep my CX-60.
67000 for the Tiguan R-line with a few toys and no panoramic roof or Bose. The CRV is a bargain!
€70k for a Honda CRV - you’d want to be a die hard Honda fan to buy one. Like the new Civic, it’s overpriced by 20%.
Don't think we'll see too many???💶💶💶
Nope. Polestar 4 is a better car for pretty much the same money. Plus you don’t have to fill it with expensive petrol or diesel!
I have to laugh that you think when Electricity is the main demand the Government isn’t gonna tax the fk out of it! Naive person you are! 😂
You are so naive to think that the government won’t start to tax the hell out of electric soon! 😂
Tax the hell out of electric ???? Road Tax is based on emissions.
Expensive but to be fair we all know that CRV will still be in the traffic jam in front of you in 2040! 🤷
No any more, I have a 12 and 13 year old CRV's, lots of tissues this year/ rubber fittings perished, this week my power steering hose burst, I now have to wait 1 week to get the replacement part from the Netherlands thanks to brexit, I do not think I will reach the 15 years old mark unfortunately
I'm in my 3rd CRV. Had a 2015 1.6 diesel AWD, a 191 Hybrid and now in a 2021 Hybrid. I'll definitely be looking at this when it comes time to change aswell
The adaptive cruise control on these is just effortless
Good trade in values?
@@NobbyOnCars They werent bad no different to other brands. I traded in the diesel with about 156k km and the hybrid with about 103k km
The hybrid I have now is almost identical to the previous one apart from a few subtle changes inside, gone is the wood dash but otherwise it was just a lot less mileage and a different colour
Agree have 21 plate hybrid AWD love it and would def look at this. mine was the managers car 3 months old saved a fortune compared to new.
I literally saw people laughing at a mall show for Honda. They displayed the prices for the civic and the CRV. People thought it was a joke 😂
The pricing of the new Honda cars is completely off the scale 50'000 for a Honda civic is nuts.
looked at it at the local dealer in Feb, then they told me the price and i told them ill get a Tesla which i did. I feel like Honda still think we are in 2020 prices
I do like the CRV but I tend to buy them at 10 years old. With the price of this one, I don't imagine there'll be a lot to choose from a decade down the line :(
I know you mentioned it but still, I cannot get my head around that price.
They are well built and I have owned a Honda in the past but these days you have to be 70+ to buy one.
Not a chance!
It’s a really nice machine, looks quality and I suppose it should at this price. Either a pre-reg or a 1 year old version could be a good buy 👍👍
“Why is there a Honda badge on that Volvo?”
[overakes]
“Is that 2 cars welded together?”
🤣
