    Gratitude ❤😊 Chief, tell me please, I've just started to study EGR and as far as I understood this system is closed loop, so no exhaust gases going out to atmosphere and thus there are no Exhaust Gas Boiler?

      Hello Max, EGR is a technology to reduce the Nox emission. Would please tell which on my videos about EGR you have watched. I have made two videos for EGR, the mitsui HP EGR and the J engine LP EGR.

      Oh I see Max, you watched is the water treatment system of the mitsui EGR, okay please watch my 3 videos about EGR. The one you watched is just the water treatment system of the Mitsui EGR🙂

      @@marinerealtalk8683 gud morning. Ask ko lang pwede ba tayo mag operate ng EGR kun naka O.5% sulphur pa ang fuel? May nakasulat kase sa panel na complete switching to O.1% sulpur before operate tier3.

    • @marinerealtalk8683
      @marinerealtalk8683  Рік тому

      Hello Alexander, pag may note na panel na ganon, meaning your EGR is designed for LSMGO at kailangan munang complete changer over and that is part of the starting sequence or EGR.

    • @marinerealtalk8683
      @marinerealtalk8683  Рік тому

      If your EGR is designed for LSMGO, di sya pwedeng operate for HSFO, otherwise it will not proceed to start. But just in case it can be override, it can easily clog the spaghetti filter leads to operation will be stopped or either your egr drain tank will also get easily full.
      Kung meron pang di clear sau Alexander, feel free to send further question. Hope this sharing could help you to understand.

    Nice video chief. Thank you.
    Is that what you call a 2 phase purifuer or 3 phase purifier?

    • @marinerealtalk8683
      @marinerealtalk8683  Рік тому

      Hello Alialtikriti, likewise thank you for the appreciation. Actually the separator in WTS is not a 2 phase nor 3 phase as it does not have any gaseous components being purified. It is just a disc type purifier and for Mitsubishi EGR, they have only two type, the MKK1 and MKK2.
      The exhaust gas is being cooled, cleaned and part of it is redirected to the scavenging air reciever.

    Chief boyet thank you! Very interesting and knowledgeable content. May I ask a question sir? How do you compute the generation and bleed off rate when the WTS is in standby mode? Coast to coast US voyage. Thanks for replying! Godbless sir!😁😁😁👍👍

    • @marinerealtalk8683
      @marinerealtalk8683  Рік тому +1

      Hello Jaja, actually there is no certain computation because bleed off also depends on the condition of spaghetti filter, setting/feeding of flocculant depending on the type of fuel being used. But on the manual you can see the normal or precalculate rate but its not a guarantee.

    Sir, I have a question about maintnenance job by ship's crew. I heard when the ship is equipped with EGR, and if the ship doesn't go to Tier 3 zone for more than 1 month, ship should carry out some kiind of operational test(the engine should use LSMGO). Then, at least how long we should do the operational test? And Is there any other job the ship's crew should do for maintenance? Such as for nozzle spray, water mist catcher, and water treatment unit(except spaghetti filter)? Oh lastly, can you say again about the dosing unit that appears around 5:17 in this video?

    • @marinerealtalk8683
      @marinerealtalk8683  Рік тому

      Hello, thank you for having an interest. Actually you are right that when vessel is not calling Nox emission control area the EGR should be run for maintenance test to ensure the good working condition as well as for crew familiarization. There is no certain hours you could run, but in us, we are recommending to run for at least 4 hours in order not to consume much LSMGO but it is good enough to check the operating condition.. Frequency depends on Owner's advise, wether monthly or once in two months, also depending on the voyage or vessel schedule.
      For the other maintenance, just follow the maintenance guide. But of course the interval might be shorten depending on the condition.
      About the dosing unit or floculant dosing pump. The setting will be based on the visual analysis of the water sample. It is being done the the crew, thus it is very important that crew knows how to select the correct one. It is recommended to carry out the analysis everytime you will be using another batch of LSMGO. Incorrect setting may leads to easily clogging of spaghetti filter. Same with the other filter, you may judge the condition thru a deferential pressure.
      Feel free to raise your question in any of my english videos.🙂
