    Day 2 on my Lollys. I've been having the BEST time learning everything there is about roller skating. I'm so happy to support Moxi skates and everything it stands for. Massive thanks to you Estro, without you and your wisdom I never would have felt this inspired about this amazing form of transportation 🤩
    I look forward the day when I need to get some Fundaes as my first wheel upgrade.

    I’ve always understood the concept of fundaes. However, they really would take me through HOURS at the park in the afternoon then I’d immediately head to a sunset roll out and skate for hours into the moonlight. That’s exactly what a fun day means to me. Anywho, just a tiny full circle moment of my quarantine thoughts🤍. Vertex wheels are fun too! They’re so big I feel like I’m riding on a speed chariot😎. Def a mood haha.😁🔥

    Moxi wheels have absolutely 360’ed my roller skating experience; they are so smooth and don’t slip at all. Even though they’re outdoor wheels, I love them for just gliding in a roller disco😂.

  • @MystiqueRisingSun

    I love using 68A and 70A skateboard wheels outdoors....indoors, I still stick to the Moxi Gummy. My rink is.....well...filthy! :( So much dust, I'm scared to go much higher, though I do have some 85's, too (Luminous)...but, yeah, rode an 88 a few weeks before the rink closed, seriously thought I was going to crash into the wall the first few laps, but I did adjust. Kind of. I was slowly getting used to them, but now that we're back outdoors again, I get to start the process all over. Yea? LOL
    The rink further away from me, though, I love my 95's and 96's - that rink is taken care of much better.
    Wheels are such a hard thing to figure out, especially for new skaters. However, those of us fortunate enough to have more than one rink nearby, or when a new rink opens up...and for a few of us, when we travel to other rinks...it can still be difficult. I almost always travel with a couple different wheels, just in case.

      Have you found the luminous to be good for indoor and outdoor?

    • @jessicarene731
      @jessicarene731 2 роки тому

      Yes! My boyfriend and I went to a different rink for our 2nd skate and could barely skate! Everything felt slippery! I'm thinking their skates had harder wheels.

    • @MystiqueRisingSun
      @MystiqueRisingSun 2 роки тому

      @@nah.yell.e Personally, yes. (Sorry, didn't see this reply until just now.) But, again, part of it is skater preference, part of it is flooring/street surface, part of it is how well a rink is taken care of or how much debris is outside where you skate. For me, I love my 78's on MY street...literally around the corner (next street over), it's much smoother so I can roll a 92A on that road. This city sucks so you never know what you're going to run into here...LOL I just keep the 78's (and 85's - Luminous - of course) for outdoor as I do mostly street, sidewalk, and trail. I will sometimes switch when going to the local skate park - still a newbie at the park, so I still prefer something a *little* softer than most park skaters roll, just for a little extra stick and stability until I'm more used to it.

    • @MystiqueRisingSun
      @MystiqueRisingSun 2 роки тому

      @@jessicarene731 Did you rent skates? What kind of floor?
      Also...humidity is a BIG factor where I live, too. Even with having my own skates and "outdoor" wheels, if it's humid on a wood floor, it can sometimes feel like you're ice skating out there! Can be scary when you're not expecting it.
      Every rink I go to, I always bring extra wheels, test out the surface with a single lap (maybe a few laps in winter, the cold effects your wheels, too) and then decide if I need/want to switch the wheels or not. It's a pain, but for the best roll, you need to adjust.
      I've been known to adjust people's rentals at the rink....so even if you don't have skates, you CAN use your own wheels if you have any...just be sure to put the originals back on before you turn them in. Most rinks don't care, as long as they get their original equipment back.

    • @estrojen8755

      no soft 78a wheel are 'good' at the roller rink since they are soft, absorb energy and make skating harder work

    Thanks so much for this video! It’s really helpful. I like to skate outside in Chicago and I’m a beginner, so based on your video I should probably get a 78A wheel. The skates I bought last year have Wheels: 61 x 38mm / 80A, Bearings: ABEC-7 Carbon Steel. Do you think it might be easier for me to skate if I bought the 78A wheels?

    I realize this is an older video but I’m going to try my luck at a response anyway. When I was a teen I went skating every weekend. I bought my own skates but my friend told me the wheels were crap so he gave me a set he wasn’t using. They were on the smaller side and white. I used them and never had any issues. Fast forward 30 years and I am now taking my kids skating and getting back into it. I’m going to get myself a set of skates as I don’t have the ones I had as a teen. After some research I believe the white wheels I had as a teen were sure-grip all American plus. I remember my friend making a big deal about them being made of vanathane. I’m currently looking at some rollerbones nitro 97a. If I was on the all Americans as a teen would these nitro’s feel too soft to me? The rental skates I have been using seem too soft and make me work too hard. It seems that the all Americans rate around 101a is there that much difference between a 97a and a 101a? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

    Help! I am an OLD SCHOOL rollerskater- I'm talking 1980 :) I had a pair of "sneaker skates" back in the day that I took to a skateboarding shop and got wheels and bearings replaced - they looked like the polyurethane soft ones. I just remember that they really spun fast when I spun them with my hand. They were AWESOME - soft but fast. . I mostly was a rink skater. Now, my daughter's into it, and she wants to skate in a park with me....My skating style is just gliding, dancing etc... I want wheels that will be good for just cruising but not SLOW- I'm def not a beginner. Can you recommend a wheel or evn skate for me? TIA!!!!!

    Alright moxie Michelle it's Arna what absolutely ticks me the most about the industry is cleaning the ball bearings and not putting them in until it's Black sludge and reusing it and reusing it and then adding a little bit more and putting it into those whole kits out there a full oil kit and cleaning kit with your bottle and then you put it back in the seal bottle that holds that kind of equipment and it's just guzzled thrown away and not used not everyone's a technician of a mechanics of skates let alone using the equipment to clean them so let's talk about how many times you should reuse that same bottle one bottle to clean a ball bearing and how many times you should put it in your holding bottle after it's cleaned the only used it till it's black and how much chemical danger in the environment of all those spills and wastes of cleaning ball bearing kits have some sensibility the whole ball bearing kit is about sustainability
