Dee was his acting teacher in the early 80s. My friend ultimately moved on to another career and lives and works in the Pasadena area, a really lovely (and very wealthy) area that this series sometimes used as filming locations. In fact, all of the establishing shots of the building in which Barnaby’s office is supposed to be located was right in downtown Pasadena, but unfortunately it was demolished decades ago.
The absence of cell phones, slick compact cars, & quick scenes don't matter when you have superb acting, story lines and good o'le fashion intrigue! Good old storytelling
If you buy the premise of a Milk-Drinking elderly "Flatfoot" then just relax and admit you'll buy anything. Barnaby's thing was nosing around a being a pest with that good ol Country wisdom. He wasn't going to smack people around or bully them with his size. He was going to outwit and outlast you, by staying one step ahead, awesome Betty to mind the store and the Crime Lab with Microscope. And drinking nothing but MILK. No cigarettes, no Hats, "Nuisance from North Carolina"
Why didnt jebadiah and the girl not just bug out the back door and run and hide and run and hide and run and hide and just keep going.... the 3 guys have just stayed in the same place..... it's like they want to become victims instead of bugging out and staying hidden.... but it is what it is.
