Vidushi Kaberi Kar was born on 4 March 1951 in a musical family of West Bengal. She took 'talim' from Ustad Rahim Fahimuddin Dagar for more than three decades. She was working as a professor of music department of Visva Bharati University for a long time. She has been performed at many renowned music conferences in the country and abroad.

• 'Surmani' awarded from Bombay Surshringar Samsad.
• Seni Sangeet Sabha honored her with the title 'Vidushi'.
• Shrestha Kalakar Samman from Benaras Hindu Mandir.
