    Here's how I repaired the stripped banjo bolt hole on my Baer drag brake caliper. I used a helicoil kit from Amazon.

    I just stripped my brand new rear Brembo caliper exactly like this. Soo disappointing! I got the other 3 installed and hopefully I can repair mine like you did!

    Is corrosion to this material a concern?

    I made the catastrophic mistake about a year or so ago of stripping the threads out of the banjo bolt hole for a brand new caliper. I ran my fingers across the hose fitting and seen one of the crush washers fall to the ground. I even scraped it with a pick and never seen a second one fall. I didn't make absolutely sure BOTH washers came off. I put two fresh washers on and tightened the fitting on the caliper but it wouldn't stop leaking and it didn't seem to get tighter past a certain point. I backed it out and three washers fell out along with some metal shavings into my hand. Is this fixable with something like this?

    • @BackyardBMX73
      @BackyardBMX73  Рік тому

      Very possible. You just have to be sure nothing gets into any ports within the caliper.

    Would you be able to update on if this worked? I have a similar situation(flare nut fitting instead of banjo bolt) with an aluminum 4-piston caliper. Was your fix able to hold pressure?

    • @BackyardBMX73

      I don't recall what size I used, but I called Baer to verify the size of the banjo bolt and used a size that would accommodate the Baer banjos.
