Nice lap! Nice video! Nice sound! Had a R1100S for 90.000miles/8years and loved it. Took it to track days as well (Assen, Zolder). Loved that bike. Very stable steering. Had a shorter paralever strut to raise the rear for a steeper rake and quicker steering. Great fun! Wouldn’t mind having one of those boxercup replica bikes in the shed
Nice job - I know it’s years ago but the ride was fun to watch and hear. Now on my 2000 R11S. Couldn’t take the HD any more as gorgeous as it was. Thanks for sharing!
Yeah mate worked well, gopro stuck on fairing above left hand cylinder. Quite cool watching the telelever suspension working very well, such a stable bike to ride!
Excellent capture I loved your composition a great agle and view of the road relative to the bike. Thank you for mounting it horizontal and vertical as your lean and angles where superbly captured. The sounds were good i'd remove the wind noise as it steals the sound space, thanks for sharing yay!
Tidy riding mate, nice lines. Am very familiar with that engine as I ride an 1100R and could feel every gear change you made. Thanks for sharing and ride safe. Steve
A video where you can see what's going on and hear the boxer-engine and some, just some, wind noise. Real nice configuration you've got there. Ofc, would like to see the speedo and rpm, but well we r1100s drivers can hear how fast you're going hehe :D
What a great ride you had ! Been there 3 times. One of the best place to be (but New Zealand is far greater, you are so lucky !). That sound ! I love my 11 S as well. I need to change the stock exhaust one day... Already tune the engine (high compression pistons, high lift camshaft, special eprom, GS like KN airfilter mount...) and Wilbers suspensions. Despite I am a press test rider, I wouldn't change my versatile R1100S for an other bike. Thank for that vid' mate !
Get a van der linde exhaust from south Africa, one of the best bmw exhaust manufacturer, the owner worked on perfecting the pulses from these engines for various bmw racing teams
Not sure was too busy looking where i was going, it might just touch 140mph if you are going downhill, redline in top gear with a strong breeze up your freckle...
@@neilcuthbert4837 im experiencing noticeable vibration at 4.5k-5k rpm on the footpegs. I've rebuild and synced TBs, and adjusted the TPS which have significantly smoothed out the engine but I still get footpeg vibration at 5k. Probably out of phase driveshaft?
Racer? hell no only my second trip to the TT had the Mrs on the back and was just trying to stay leftish incase someone quick was coming through but cheers will have another go in 2018 I live in New Zealand would do it every year if I could!
That was a rental bike she didn't like it much as a pillion not much to hang onto needs a better grab rail. The only time she hangs onto me is back home in NZ when riding the GS BMW sliding around on the gravel roads she's not a great fan of slideways style corners. Try find a boxer cup model R1100s they ride well.
Vastly underrated bike - the looks are polarising but I love them! Rewarding ride with an engine oozing character.

Great video. Still loving my 1999 "highway maintenance paint scheme" R1100S. I've had it now since 2007. Still looks close to brand new.
I have owned my yellow R1100s for 20 years now and I still love it.
Awesome bikes, great fun to ride!
@@neilcuthbert4837 My only issue is the work we do to change the battery. Grrrrr
@@mikeykpe6123 hook it up to a ctek charger, bloody awesome bit of kit
Same here!

Ha yeah i get bored on a Harley pretty quickly, long overdue another visit to the Isle of Man!
Great camera perspective!

poetry in motion
Thanks for the ride🎉

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I clicked on this video.
But nicely ridden 👍
Thanks, the bike was working hard im 6"5" tall and 140kg, the Mrs is about 5 foot and 55kg so its doing damn well with us both on board! 😅
SWEET , LOVE MY BMW R1150RS

Cheers, enjoyed it loads! Love going past a few on a boxer 2up 😊
I’ve just bought one!
Good stuff mate, nice bikes
@@neilcuthbert4837 Nice bike 👍👍👍...🏍🏍🏍
And me but bugger me the gearbox is noisy.
My respect! Fantastic

Yeah mate it was working hard using all it had without thrashing it, had my partner on the back as well
きれいな道ですね〜。
サスペンションの動きが気持ち良いです。
Yes a fantastic road and the suspension works very well!
wicked stuff.. luv it, nice one on the thumbs up at the end..

Curvoni lunghi ideali per la 1100s...Bella guida comunque....bravi entrambi!!!
Cheers bro
Nice sound . Original?
It had an aftermarket muffler cant remember what sort as it was a rental bike but yes sounded nice!
Okay
Nice ride that cheers
How fast top speed- over a hundret-twenty miles per hour?
Not sure was too busy looking where i was going, it might just touch 140mph if you are going downhill, redline in top gear with a strong breeze up your freckle...
Fabulous choice of motorcycle and location :D Can I ask how the camera was mounted? Brilliant video.
MrDanSouth stuck it onto fairing just above left hand cylinder worked well I think
You don't blip the throttle on down changes I notice!
Never felt the need to much on that bike plus with me and the mrs on it around 200kg all up rider weight the back end stays fairly well planted.
do u get vibration on the footpegs at 5k rpm?
Nope smooth right through the rev range

@@d2nt3 Yeah could be, many things to check, did you do valve clearances before you balanced it? Also check compression, plugs, leads etc
Great video, who said kiwis can't fly?
Bruce Anstey sure can!
Is this a stock R1100S? Nice riding BTW!!
Had a aftermarket exhaust but that's all
Which exhaust? I love the sound!!
I think it was a Termignoni system but not 100% sure it was a rental bike.
You ride well my friend. Are you a racer or just very familiar with the circuit.

Mrs on the back?! Bloody hell, looks fast!
She is a awesome pillion don't even know she is there and sometimes have to check that she actually still is 😅
😀 ha excellent
Thinking seriously about getting back into bikes and getting fiancee on the back, r1100s high up the list, sounds fab!

Грамотно валит. Удивило что на виражах не боится ставить колеса на срединную разметку. Может у них разметка не скользит?
Dry road, good tyres and a great road surface no problem.
クレイジーでクールな日本語😎😜👍
Ha cool thanks, i hope to ride in Japan some day!
