    I love this level of abstraction. For my college courses the instructors kind of just go into the math, equations and analysis of all this works but they never stop to really teach an intuitive way of understanding what it is or why it works the way it does.
    Like i know that the voltage across an inductor = the inductance * the derivative of the current with respect to time. But i never really grasped why the voltage isn't present in dc current. Your description of how the magnetic field itself varying in intensity pushes and pulls electrons made so much sense. Thank you

    I really enjoy and appreciate your videos. I instruct a course on Mechanical and Electrical Systems for Architectural Technologist - essentially “what you need to know in order to have a somewhat intelligent conversation with mechanical and electrical engineers, and be able to properly coordinate their scopes of work into building projects.” I refer my students to a lot of your videos for the engaging animations and straightforward explanations for instruction on the theory. This affords me more time to focus on mechanical and electrical plan reading exercises, review of common coordination issues and field trips to view real world installations. Thank you so much, keep up the excellent work.

      Video is a very powerful visual learning tool. By watching videos of transformer work, students can learn the working principle of transformers quickly and easily. In addition, videos provide a more realistic view of transformer work than photos or drawings. For example, students can see how the coils are energized and how the flux changes as the current flows. This real-world perspective can be helpful for understanding transformer operation and for troubleshooting problems. Finally, video also allows students to see the equipment in use, which can help them better understand how it works.
      A transformer is a device that transfers energy from one circuit to another through the use of inductors and capacitors. Transformers are classified by their power ratings, which can be input or output. The highest power rating is the input power, which is the power supplied to the transformer. The lower power rating is the output power, which is the power delivered by the transformer. Transformers have more output power than input because they use energy from the input to create a magnetic field that amplifies the voltage of the output. This process also creates heat, which must be dissipated by cooling fins on the transformer.
      When it comes to their education, most students think inside the box. They rely on what they are taught in school and what their teachers tell them to do. However, when it comes to science and technology, this way of thinking can often lead students astray. In particular, the topic of free energy is one that has been misunderstood by many students.
      To begin with, many people believe that free energy is some sort of magical power that can be harnessed for infinite energy. This is not the case. Free energy is simply a term used to describe a system that does not require any input fuel in order to run. In other words, the system produces more energy than it consumes.
      While free energy systems do exist, they are not yet practical for everyday use. Nevertheless, students should still be thinking about ways to create them.

One thing i noticed is there is nothing showing that the current and flux get's larger and smaller during the constant changes, but that may over complicate things. It took me a lot of effort to figure out what alternating current and flux was and I think a lot had to do with lack of good visualization and explanations. Great video

      Power = Voltage x Current. The output power of the transformer cannot exceed the input power and so if the voltage increases, the current must decrease to keep the power the same...and vice versa.

      It's a triangle, of pulses (each 1 a two part: Phase) on 1 road. Each magnetic flip, is a quick opposing pulse : of a size, & time.
      They dont collide fired in rotation.
      The induction ability of magnetic forces is really cool. Nick Tesla knew he could wifi electricity & it wouldn't "cost" anything.

    They mentioned that with the use of Transformers, increasing the voltage decreases the current. They said they would talk more about this later but I cannot find any video where they do. Based on everything I've learned so far about electricity increasing the voltage should increase the current. I've looked all over the internet and found that a lot of people concur with this except on the subject of power lines and Transformers. everyone then says as the voltage increases the current decreases. I have looked all over and cannot find anything that clearly explains how both statements can be true
    Can anyone please give me some answers.?

    • @Michael2512
      @Michael2512 5 років тому +4

      I had the exact same issue! So basically instead of thinking in terms of V=IR think of it in terms of P=IV. Where P (power) must remain constant and V (voltage) has either stepped up or stepped down. In a normal circuit if you want to change the voltage you have to completely change the battery therefore not only has voltage say been stepped up but power has also increased too, therefore increase in current as well. In the transformer circuit, the Voltage has been stepped up but the total power delivered has not changed therefore the only way to keep that power constant (P=VI) the current must decrease. Hope that makes sense.

    • @brandond6736
      @brandond6736 5 років тому +1

      @@Michael2512 it does to an extent but thinking in the context of a circuit inside your home. In that instance increasing the voltage would still also cause the current to increase so I'm still trying to figure out how both statements are true. Maybe I'm just being dumb. Is it just because the circuits in your house don't use the maximum amount of power available? Does it have something to do with the way the power circulates back to the power plant? I'm just not quite getting it on the molecular level. How is all that voltage even circulating if it's not pushing that many electrons?

    • @CASP_ian
      @CASP_ian 4 роки тому

      @@brandond6736 You are right. Current depends on the load and also on voltage to the load. That's ohms law and its true.
      Please remember when they say SEC current decreases in SUT (Step up trans), they actually mean " SUT can sustain less SEC current compared to PRI current value' and if you try to draw more current by putting more load then SEC voltage will drop or something will burn out.
      Always think of load and its type. If you put a heater in sec of SUT and SEC voltage is further increased by increasing the no of turns then current will also increase.
      If however some step down transformer (SDT) is put in the SEC of SUP and now if the no of turn of SUT SEC is increased then the current drawn by SDT (mean SUT sec current) will be less as Voltage has increased and not need draw more current as Power required is Vx I
      And trust that at consumption stage most load are controlled ones and does not keep drawing more simply because voltages have increased.(Eg- Induction motors ) Hope it clear some of doubts

    what does it mean when you say the center point of the wye configuration is often grounded and that allows for neutral lines to be connected?

    • @GH-oi2jf
      @GH-oi2jf 2 роки тому

      Look at the videos on the 240V/120V split phase system to see how neutrals work. The basic idea is that you want part of the circuit to be connected to earth so there is a known voltage on a “hot” wire relative to earth.
