George was a man who made fans across the world smile and as a fan of Celtic Thunder it was a sudden shock and the days without him are not the same as he is gone and now that he rests in peace, his soul will always be remembered. As we realize that he is gone it will be sadden but he is in a better place. As i never met George, you could see fans smile everytime he showed his face on stage and in real life. May his wife Carolyn and his daughter Sarah have the best wishes as they have a hard time to deal with the loss of a father and a husband. You can tell he was a fatherly figure to Damien - always watching over him, and it almost makes me cry in the video of him when Damien is singing "A Bird Without Wings." His first love - his wife and daughter, blessed to have him. So tragic. So damned sad.

With him gone, they will never be the same. They are still amazing, and I still love them, they are just missing the same comradely they had before.

I only discovered Celtic Thunder around the time George died: Oh how I would have loved to have seen you live George with Damian, Keith, Ryan and Paul.. I am just glad so much exists on the virtual world that means your memory lives on. My daughter lives in Canada and they are playing near where we will be when we are out there later this year. Tickets already booked for my daughter, Cynth, her Mom in Law and I for a gals night with CT and can't wait. Strangely seeing a I live in The U.K it was me that introduced my daughter and Cynth to CT. It wont be quite the same without you George yet we know you will be their in spirit. RIP George. I only knew George through the PBS shows and CD's and DVD's I bough by Celtic Thunder. I really lovedthe entire group especially George with his rich voice and tender messages. I am so glad I have many ofthem. He seemed to be the glue that held the singers together and they were so good. I miss George, alwayswill, but will listen to him sing. Will the Celtic Thumder Group be able to ever get together again??
+Anita Rhoney They have never broken up. They toured the US last spring, will be touring Australia in May, and will tour the US again in the fall. I believe they also have a new PBS special coming out around St. Patrick's Day. They have all done tributes to George - separately and together. They also tour individually, but the group is still together. Keith Harkin, Ryan Kelly, and Neil Byrne are still with the group. Others come and go, but the group is still together.
No they are still together, Ryan Neil and Keith are still around from the original group, Colm Keegan, Emmet O'Hanlon and the ocassional apperance by Damian McGinty. In fact they are planning a huge USA/Canada tour this fall, the tour dates will be released on St. Patrick's day, so be sure to check out celtic thunder.com on that date.

I've often wondered how the group would of progressed is George had survived, but sadly we will never know. As for Keith, he left, he didn't have too but yes....I do miss his voice.
I will never get over him leaving and will play his songs till the cd's and dvd's wear out. Do you know if the Celtic Thunder gang will ever be able to do any more shows? I miss them all and don't feel quite the same about their individual endeavors although I listen to my Celtic Thunder music and love them all.

Never met the gentleman but really liked his voice and how he meshed well with the other voices. Music was good.
