That's disgusting as it's a house for dwarves!
What are you on about ?
That is so small for anyone to buy as a home!
@@Steve-yw1yk if you say so 🙄
Would you live in it
Total hypocrite! Aslong as it pays the bills!
I spend all day laying bricks on site to come home and spend all evening watching you guys laying bricks on site. 😅 Wtf is wrong with me? Haha. Keep up the good work lads, it all looks very neat and clean to me.
Luckytrowel12 😂😂 Cheers pal I was the same now I’m too busy editing to watch any more 😳🧱👍🏽
Wow first house , looking great so far ! Must be quite a change but I think some more variation on the job makes it much better doesnt it ? That’s how I would feel , whet is that orange floor there ? Is it a form to pour concrete later 🤔? Like a lost form that will stay after the props removal ?... top job !
Jay Puyenbroeck Cheers jay , yes it’s all good experience for Alex and a good refresher for me . The orange thing is a trad deck , Heath and safety . It’s a platform to stop any falls from height but you can load on them and work off them . Superb idea 👌🏼💪🏼🧱👍🏽
Looking good guys, do you still set out bricks from 3 packs on site or are you just given them as it is, some new estates the banding is shocking where nobody gives a toss anymore...I’ve been on domestics for 12 years
No mate , only 1 pack and 1 tub allowed on the loading bay so it will never happen 🤷🏼♂️😬🧱👍🏽
Great video lads 👏
On The Tools Nice one thanks 🧱👍🏽
lucky lads , we work for gleesons in south yorkshire and we have to use clinker blocks in garages
mace106 😬🧱👍🏽
Looking good boys nice neat work and a clean site keep up the good work 👍👍
Cheers Nigel 👍🏽🧱
FairPlay guys, you lads don’t half put in a shift!!!great father and son duo 🧱👍
george barker Thanks very much George 🧱👍🏽
So please you're above ground now 👍.
Nice to see you still keeping a lovely clean site 😁.
Did you have to go to hospital Steve to have them wellies surgically removed ? 🤣🤣🤣.
Looking great guys, hope you're a lot happier. 🌞🧱👷♂️😁😁👍
Regards
Tim
Tim Margereson Cheers Tim 😂😂. I’ve got some lovely new cofra boots but I don’t want to get them dirty 🙄😂🧱👍🏼
Happy birthday Alex! Great to see you out of the ground now. Steve you make those blocks look lightweight but I can't tell block density these days. Hope Alex is planning on building his own house one day. Spend plenty of time thinking about the design. Great video work.
Thanks John the blocks are lovely lightweight ones 🧱👍🏽
@@SteveAndAlexBuild Many thanks for that. I have been well confused looking at new housing estates and seeing the different packs of blocks about where they use lightweight blocks and where the heavies, or if indeed just how many grades there are now. Anyhow you make it all look elegantly effortless which I know it isn't. That's the art of what you do, making every movement count.
John Coppock Thanks John 🧱🧱🧱👍🏽
Opa....estamos por aqui
😏🧱👍🏽
You are hard working clean brickie alex will learn well of you
Cheers Ray 🧱🤙🏾👍🏽
❤️the channel, pick up tips all the time in Ireland we put internal walls up 11 corses ?and jack walls on flat ?only 8 and a brick 👍
Neil Cosgrove Nice one , glad you enjoy the channel , thanks for watching and commenting 🧱👍🏽
Excellent video well done top job top team awesome thanks 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Phil Glover cheers Phil 🧱👍🏽
Are ye on price work or day work? i am retired now from the trade... but god i miss them days...
I wish we were on daywork as we are still settling in so very slow at the moment 🧱👍🏼
Sorry I missed the premier Steve & Alex. Congratulations fellas on your first house and many more to come.
Bet it feels good to be out of the ground , Well done guys , looking good.
Spartrowel It’s a big learning curve but we are getting there 😬🧱👍🏽
Top video again guys. Well done 👍.
abrydon1986 Thanks 🧱👍🏼
Great effort lads always stuff to learn from you guys !!!
We are all on a big learning curve together now 😬🧱👍🏼
Top Work Guys some of the best i have seen.5 Star
Gary Mullock Cheers Gary thanks very much 🧱👍🏽
Love the channel lads been following ever since the first extension you did just want to ask at 3:33 - 3:36 on the left had corner and the garage theres atleast 8 straight joints ? Is that because of the bond not working out or what ? Like I said been watching yous for almost 3 years now and never seen a problem
Its the only way to do the quoin pattern on the corners 😬🧱👍🏽
@@SteveAndAlexBuild ahhhh I didn't even notice the pattern mate 👌
Sam Morrissey no probs 😉🧱👍🏼
Interesting, new housing with no cavity insulation....??? Are they going to infill the cavity with expanding foam, following construction...? Nice job guys, decent job...👍🏻
Thanks pal . It’s filed after but not expanding foam 🧱👍🏽
Bricklaying With Steve and Alex...so what do they do...drill and put in a flock cavity insulation, similar to insulation on older homes...?
Stu N I think so 🧱👍🏽
Another cracking vid, stay safe lads.
Les Gill Cheers Les you too pal 😷🧱👍🏼
Alright mate what do you set the profile fins at on my Blake’s they come as standard but the pts you adjust yourself??
Shannon Delaney we have a video showing how to attach them to brickwork . There is also a video called external profile set up which shows how to set up the top screws which once set aren’t touched again 🧱👍🏽
Oh, so they build-in & use cavity closers as frame/reveal profiles? Makes sense.
Yes pal , great idea 🧱👍🏽
Great quality work think I would have my new house built by you 2 compared to some of the standards that are about 👍
gary t Nice one thanks Gary 🧱👍🏼
Hello guys,
What are you fast!! Lucky Luke is slow, compared to you guys. 😊😊👍👍
The way you are working is very educational for a dutch carpenter.
Keep on going!
Greetings from a dutch carpenter.
Gé van leeuwen Thanks pal and welcome to our channel 🧱👍🏽
Good stuff lads. Cleaning out the inside of the house makes all the difference and just adds tye finishing touch to the job before scaffolding. You guys should get a labourer though. Be a lot easier on you! By the way, I've been building with my dad since i first started 11 years ago and its great isnt it? Stressful at times but wouldn't change it!
Mr Ctop93 A labourer is an option eventually maybe . I do enjoy working with Alex 👌🏼🧱👍🏼
Tidy work (as always). How's Alex finding the tempo of doing Supers on price work ? Or are you not too fussed at the moment? Maybe taking it slow and taking the hit on the pocket for now?
Matt Cartwright Exactly Matt ,it’s like starting all over again for him at the moment 🧱👍🏼
Is there a particular reason to point the internal block work? Or is it just neater for your peace if mind
I think its required to make sure every joint is full 👌🏽🧱👍🏽
Martin 🧱👍🏽
Another cracking video/job lads. I miss being on the supers it’s just not the same as it used to be. Hope it works out for you though! 🧱🧱🤙🤙
Ricky Warfield Thanks pal fingers crossed 🤞🏼🧱👍🏽
Nice change for you guys👍🏻
Bob Hendry . It will be when we get settled 🧱👍🏼
The insatalation is it going to be pumped in.
Yes pal 🧱👍🏽
Pure class lads 👍👍👍
Barrington Smythe Thanks pal 🧱👍🏼
looking great as usual
owbeer Thanks pal 🧱👍🏼
Enjoyed the video as usual, not seen the internal (red plastic platform?) before is it for speed /ease of use. Great skills there.
Thanks very much . The trad deck is mainly for health and safety but makes life so much easier 👌🏼👍🏼🧱
Bricklaying With Steve and Alex...it is of course elf’n’safety....it’s fall protection (work at height regulations).
Stu N . It’s bloody great 💪🏼🧱👍🏽
Have you considered a labourer, on price work a good labourer pays for themselves in the time you save not loading your own blocks and muck. Top work as always, admire your high standard of workmanship!
Lewis Cain Always an option down the line 🧱👍🏼
Chuck em up lads hope you expand and earn loads of coin
💪🏽🧱👍🏽
Do the darker bricks have to go in a partiucular pattern or just random, and when does the insulation go in?
completely random pal . The insulation gets blown in after the roof and windows go in 🧱👍🏽🤞🏼
Was thinking the same about the insulation but we'll answered Steve.. Top job lads great father and son team keep up the great work and content 👷👷👏🏻👏🏻
Neil Hopkins Thanks very much Neil 🧱👍🏽
while waiting 8 days for scaffold steve did you start another plot?
danny wilkins 😂😂 nope they’ve only given us one plot , as we were slow getting started they took 2 plots off us as “ they need them throwing up “not sure if we are getting any more plots yet 🤷🏼♂️🧱👍🏽
Quantity over quality sadly, hopefully pick up more of your own work
danny wilkins 🤞🏼yes mate , pricing plenty at the moment 🧱👍🏽
danny wilkins...surprised that tube scaffold was used...on most jobs ‘doun sowf’ system scaffold is used...
Stu N . Mostly tubular u this end 🧱👍🏽
Is it compulsory to wear hard hat ??
Paul Perrin YEP 🙄👷🏽♂️👷🏽♂️🧱👍🏽
Good job that that Steve and alex do you prefer out of the ground 😀👍🏻
If im honest no , the money is crap with this company but im sick of driving 260 miles a week and my hips cant take any more mud. This is on the estate where we live and hopefully we will settle in soon and start making some better money. Idealy i would like to get off site altogether and get on private jobs where your hard graft is appreciated 🙄🧱👍🏽
Yeah it is hard work on site isn’t Steve. It’s all the cleaning cavity jointing everything and making sure it right for every other trade. 👎 the site I go on the money isn’t that good. but the driver is and the site manager is organised. So you don’t get people robbing your stuff. I hope it works out for you both. Alex has a lot of years to go yet 😂👍👍🧱
Rowlock Construction . Cheers pal 🧱👍🏼
Great vid
Cheers Oliver 🧱👍🏽
Wouldn't it be better to have a labourer on your bigger jobs to load out and knock up for you while you do what you do best? Serious question, not having a dig.
Stephen Gunner It’s always a possibility down the line 🧱👍🏼
Great job as always lads , have a good weekend 🍺🍺🍺☀️☀️☀️☀️
Sean Cheers pal you too 🧱👍🏼
Typical brick layers comments on this post they can’t spell (insulation) ffs! Keep up the good work lads I wish my dad would of helped me with my trade
Dominic Johnson 😬😂. Thanks pal 🧱👍🏽
Thankyou
ski Thankyou pal 🧱👍🏼
brill as always ,,, whats that tree for at 5.50 ish for stay safe guys
mick broadbent Cheers pal , what tree 😳🧱👍🏼
looks like a tree stump ,, poss to bring in utilities?
@@SteveAndAlexBuild
mick broadbent Ah downstairs wc soil pipe 💩🧱👍🏽

mick broadbent 🧱👍🏼
Great job lads Happy Friday 👍🏻
Cheers Gareth you too pal 🧱👍🏼
Hope Alex had a great birthday 🎂
John Buist . It was ok , we were supposed to be in Galaxies edge in Orlando for this big day 21st , maybe next year 🤞🏼🧱👌🏼
@@SteveAndAlexBuild aww thats a pity strange times we are in a caravan in Aviemore on staycation back to the grind on Monday hope you get your well earned holiday as soon as everything gets under control 🤙
John Buist . Cheers John Stay safe pal 🧱👍🏽
great tradesmen.
Gaz B Cheers pal. 👍🏼🧱
How are you finding the new world of superstructures, lads? Whole different ball game to the foundations, eh? That scaffold on the gable end looked ridiculously narrow....3 boards wide? 😲
Not fun at the moment while we find our feet but hoping we settle in soon 🧱👍🏽
@@SteveAndAlexBuild Oh, you will....no problem. All you need is a decent site manager and a decent fork lift driver and the rest will fall into place. As I said before, when you have the house designs sussed out I reckon it would pay dividends to get a clued up labourer to join you....I know it goes against the grain when you are used to doing everything as a 2 man squad, but on superstructures a good labourer is worth their weight in gold.....you will put down their wages 3 fold every day with the extra meterage you put down not having to run about up and down scaffolds mixing and loading out. 👍
Jim Newlands 🤔🧱👍🏽
good work
Edd Jordan Cheers Edd 🧱👍🏽
Looks like a 307 plot? We are with Gleesons at the minute
wayne barker I don’t understand all the bloody numbers 😳 I think it’s a 310 I just know it as a Liffey 🧱👍🏽
@@SteveAndAlexBuild lol yeh it is baffling but there nice easy builds i like em
wayne barker we’ve only been at it since July 2nd so still getting used to them . They only gave us 1 plot so no drop and so far had 12 days off waiting to scaff ☹️🧱👍🏼
@@SteveAndAlexBuild ill be honest with you through my experience with them you need to keep at them for progress and getting plots because there build program is alot longer than most companys so there not always that bothered about progress which is no good when your on price as im sure you know, this is just my experience of them.
wayne barker . I’ve come from Wain Homes and it’s another world 😬😂🧱👍🏼
Cracking 👌🏼
Cheers Marty🧱👍🏽
How old were u both in this
About a month younger than we are now 😂🤣.
51 and 21 🧱👍🏽
Is that a gleesons site pal
matthew ingham It is mate 🧱👍🏼
@@SteveAndAlexBuild how is the lad finding the houses .have you done that so he gains experience on the house building side of things
matthew ingham Am is doing well learning every day . We mainly moved to get out of the footings as I couldn’t do them any more 🧱👍🏽
Is it possible to explain next step in housebuilding after bricklaying
dd cc The roof pal 🧱👍🏽
I m mean from inside plastering or wallpaper.
dd cc Not sure what you mean mate 🧱👍🏽
Is it possible explain process after bricklaying to colouring house.and how much time it takes
dd cc . Still not sure what you mean . As we are bricklayers we have nothing to do with work after the brickwork 🧱👍🏽
Tidy face work guys 👍🏻 enjoying the change??
Cheers pal not yet need to settle in yet 🧱👍🏼
Aye ye can’t hide it underground now 🙈.
Work looks good though guys 👍🏻
Big Mobsy Cheers pal 🧱👍🏽
Just one comment you door dacers are upside down mate
J.spraggon building Services They ain’t supposed to have the closer attached as the floor is solid so no cavity to drop them into . We just put them upside down and unscrewed the horizontal piece when we got to lintel 👌🏼🧱👍🏽
Need more lads
J Don 🧱👍🏼
Lovely job, no Insolation mate.?
craighughes craig . cheers Craig , no it’s blown in same as Wain homes 😬🧱👍🏼
Does no one clean the back of the brick anymore?? And why brick first! If you were using insulation them cavities would be full of gobo
Our cavities are spotless pal 🧱👍🏽
I always prefer building brickwork first, everything should be set out and gauged to brickwork.
Luckytrowel12 Um with you pal that’s how I was taught 🧱👍🏽
@@SteveAndAlexBuild what the hell is this pick and dip 😳 you should be able to butter the brick with the acsess from the spread?!! I've built hundreds of houses with no problems 😊
souljimmy1 I can see it’s advantages but I’m too stuck In my ways 😂🧱👍🏼
should get a hod carrier
George mmmm we are happy just us 2 🧱👍🏼
that job site is wrecked, be careful.
skitzo chik 😆🧱👍🏼
I would say it's a bit of a change especially for Alex working topside of dpc but hopefully all for the better, once you settle in would it not be worth getting a labourer would make it more efficient 👍
wheaten bread Always an option down the line 🧱👍🏼
Neat brickys you two. Some of the site work is just lashed up these days. Tidy decent job 👌👌👍
Theheavykid . Cheers pal we were snagging yesterday and saw some shocking stuff 😱👍🏼🧱
Can’t work the floor plan out. It looks a tiny little place with a huge garage 🥴
They are cheap starter homes 🧱👍🏽
I doubt you miss the foundations! Rekon your getting into the swing of it now.
Not at all pal 🧱👍🏽
I know it’s not in your nature to “ Throw them up “ and as such give it a go and if it’s not for you ,take your boy and your trowel and do what your used to ! The site manager will have his program come what may and will be under his own pressure which will rub off on you .Long time gone dude so don’t be eating too much crap 👍💪🧱🎥
Ronnie Biggs Cheers Ronnie 🧱👍🏽
8 n a brick,for the trad deck,it's a Fxxxxxx joke ✌️😷😷😷
Ian Howard Trad deck went straight up , it was the scaff that took forever 🙄🧱👍🏼
@@SteveAndAlexBuild 😉, isn't sure work shite, and you didn't get chance to use your trench block 😀😀
Ian Howard Yep and no 😂😂👍🏼🧱
Where is the installation boys
Blown in after 🧱👍🏽
