again, stating the essence of what takes place. Brett, first time I heard a big cat squal, I was about 5 yr old @ Uncle ranch, N.W of Uvalde, Tx, in late 50s., It cut loose, on ridge, above the Hunting Lodge as men were hang the deer taken that day. Awesome(scary at time) but great memory. Thanks again,
Brett, your soliloquy at the end... perfect! ❤ It made my heart ache with the beauty of the natural life I have lived in Alaska, for 75 yrs, as an adventurer. Well said, my friend! You & your beautiful animal friends, carry me to new adventure, in strange places that my legs can't anymore... and make me wish I still had a lifetime before me, lol! You're doin it Right, Brother! Thank you for sharing!
Brett, you hit the true nature of the hunt square on. That’s why we harken back to the desert or the forests. To that last vestige of something wild, unknown, and truly beautiful beyond description. Thank You brother.
Great video Brett! I really enjoyed listening to the hounds working the track. Only the people that have been hunting with dogs can appreciate the simplicity. Thanks for a job well done Sir!
Brett, great dedication and love on your part, to keep going with your adventures….and judging from the comments, we all love it, and love you taking us along ! Great filming, lions or not….we love the dogs, mules, 🫏 camps, weather, stories, country, etc, some of us, never been there, some have , and love the memories….Thanks Brett 👍🤠☕️
Well said Sir. The words you spoke at the end touched my heart and soul. God bless you and this beautiful country we get to live in. Appreciate you and what you share. Your a darn fine Muleman and human
Great video Brett, enjoyed this episode, awesome words at the end and well spoken. Yes, you’re absolutely right, we are drawn in and captivated by wild places. Take care and keep your eyes peeled!
Thanks for the video I truly am living vicariously through them. If only for a few minutes I wish I could get out to a desert but I am in the northern prairies So flat here , could watch dogs run for days.
I like the way you work with the dogs. No need to yell, you just talk and they listen. Some people just won't stop with yelling and hollering. Soon the dogs just tune them out so they yell more. You do it well
@BrettVaughnB100 of course we all yell sometimes but it is reserved for when it is needed and appropriate. Not default. That's what makes it successful
Your words hold great wisdom, I think to myself when I go into the woods and I see a beautiful landscape and wonder how many others may of seen this very place only in a different time, a different season, or the purpose that they had was different then mine... You look at the majesty of nature and to deny that there is a deity, a creator, a father of creation and of man is nothing but blasphemy and denial of reality....
Wise words & amazing video, you explained briefly what the western life is about & why we live where we do,moved to Eastern Oregon 18 + years ago & though winters can be ruff wouldn't change it,as I've said before people go to church & speak of his wonders, I prefer to go to the mountains & see them 🙏🤙🇺🇸
Your ending was pure poetry. Put together very well why we go out and pursue game. As someone once said "its not the kill its the chase" Deer season is fast approaching here in Ohio and I cannot wait to get out into the woods. Does not matter if I take one or not, just being out there is special. I can't wait until the next time I get to come out west, it's truly special out there. Hopefully next spring I can plan another trip. By the way, Samson says hi, he perked right up when he heard the hounds calling.
Wow at 17:20 the reflection from the sun is something I’ve never seen before from a video pretty interesting everyone has been saying how white the sun has been looking recently and it does look whitish. Great video thanks
I’ve been watching your videos for a couple years now and loving it! Finally got a chance to go with some friends bear hunting up here in Idaho. It was really neat to get to watch the hounds work and the excitement of the chase was really something to be a part of. We treed a bear and watched him for a bit and then caught the dogs and headed back home. It wasn’t about killing something, just the adventure itself and getting out there in the hills and the fresh air and that dance of nature like you talked about. I also learned why they call it hound hunting instead of bear hunting. You turn the dogs out of the dog boxes and spend the rest of the day hunting them down to put back in the boxes haha 😂
I find comfort in the fact that there are still lions and bears and wolves in our wild spaces. I have been bitten by a rattlesnake, and the experience was not fun. But the fact is that the snake was doing what snakes do. I was careless in his territory.
Hey Cowboyvon, Al Kranbuhl from the Airedale message board, just learned of your channel from my latest Full Cry magazine. Interesting stuff, you are missing an Airedale to complement your hound pack! I look forward to viewing your videos, nice to see you, take care.
I use to have some 1/4 Airedales .. probably a couple of the best dogs I ever had .. of course years ago I raised Airedales .. one of these days I will get another one .. Thanks for watching
I’ve been watching you for months now, love your content and just the vibe, make me wanna bounce outta the city! Anyways, maybe you can try to capture the Jaguars on cam that have been spotted at the Mexico / Arizona border? Just fyi, I watch you usually streaming on my living room tv and the wind noise in this video really sucks on a full audio system, ever looked into a Bluetooth mic with a wind thingy 😂 on it? Keep up the great work! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
That was a beautiful ending most will never know just what freedom is or what it could be.
