- At around 9am UTC on 26th March Rosalin Kuiper suffered a head injury after she fell from her bunk when the boat turned and slammed unexpectedly in heavy sea conditions. Rosalin was off watch and sleeping when the boat wiped out due to a large wave off the South American coast near to Cape Horn. When this happened Rosalin was thrown from her bunk and hit her head just above her right eyebrow.

Danke für Video von Rosi, war ein echter Schreckmoment. Aber durch die liebevolle Crew geht es ihr ja schon ein wenig besser. Ich wünsche ihr weiterhin gute Besserung und Heilung der Wunde. Diese Stöße auf dem Boot sind ja wohl nicht zu unterschätzen. Die Art und Weise wie das Team mit solchen Unfällen umgeht ist schon sehr beeindruckend. Man freut sich einfach, bei allen Vorfällen im positiven und auch im negativen dabei zu sein. Ich hab noch nie so eine lebendige und kommunikative Crew, und auch das gesamte Team Malizia, erlebt. Man wird sich an dieses Rennen immer erinnern. 🥰🤗🤗⛵️🍀

Cape Horners by tradition can wear a gold hoop earring on their left ear as that was the ear facing the Horn when they past.

I had a head injury and a concussion myself a few years back and I had many of the same symptoms. Not knowing where I was, what had exactly happened. You shake that off in one day and you seem ok, but you are NOT.
Your next move can be life-altering. Rest, rest, rest, and as you arrive in Itajay, you will look funny, but you WILL be ok.
Boris, keep Rosie below deck. And if she wants to take a peek, let somebody else hold her at all times.
