  • My trip to the top of the World Trade Center in 1990 when I took part in a student exchange program. Maybe you'll get a little impression of how it was to climb the Twin Towers.

    ...the Twin Towers really impressed me more than the Grand Canyon. That's why I used to film and film ...- I had to cut off a lot.

    Hard to believe all that is gone... so sad.

    It’s unsettling now to see the views about three-quarters of the way through, looking at the plaza down below from way up in the towers, because we know that in the last moments of their lives, that was the view some people saw as they jumped. It’s so sad because I always wanted to visit Windows On The World to enjoy a meal and the view, but now we remember the horror of September 11, 2001. It’s comforting to know though that there had been happy occasions in the buildings at one time, before that horrible day in history.

    I heard that the last people to ever visit Windows on the World left just 4 minutes before Flight 11 hit. THANK GOD THAT THEY DID!

      SHINeefan17 It was a US Ricoh camcorder Video 8 and I needed years before I could watch the videos because our camcorders in Germany are PAL and not NTSC ...

    Must be a decent camera hence no interference off the north tower antenna which normally used to give off multiple RF signals creating a low pitched buzzing sound on most south tower roof top videos.

    Every time I think of the World Trade Center buildings my first thought is to get pissed. There are certain human beings on this planet I'd like to make dog food out of. There was an old friend of mine from New Jersey who was a former iron worker and he worked on the WTC. I remember some of the stories he told me about the job. Amazing

      President Trump wanted them to rebuilt too. Although stating so before he was President. The last time was in 2008/9 when the current project was going nowhere. And it still is btw. Huge costs, huge prizes, failing to get tenants or sell retail space.
      President Trump still needs to make sure the Twin Towers get rebuild.

      the real reason why they didnt is because they felt like it would be too familer to people who survied and people would be honeslty afaird to go in the new ones

    Lucky you, i never got to go there, i regret it all the time. Now when my dad takes me there in april, instead of having happy thoughts about going to the top of the wtc, i cant. I cant even imagine being there on 9/11 its terrible and i hope that the people who are behind this go to hell. R.i.p 9/11.
    they're truly beautiful arent they

    How lucky are you ! I'm the same age as you but unfortunately i went to New York 4 september of 2007. I always wanted to see that towers with my own eyes (not in TV) but i won't have the chance. My parents went in NY in 1986 and they saw the world trade center but they weren't go to the observation deck. My mother told me that the towers were so impressive.

    8:58 that building was poorly built you can literally see the floor truss and the fire proofing no wonder the plane knocked off the fire proofing

    • @mmoran3
      @mmoran3 5 років тому +18

      Unfortunately, no amount of spray on fire proofing could save those buildings on 9/11

    • @rocket767
      @rocket767 5 років тому +13

      I will agree that it was poorly constructed from a floor standpoint and flimsy fireproofing .its strength came from its outer shell and its inner core it seemed that the intense heat melted the steel in other cases hot enough to compromise its strength and durability to set in motion a cascading effect its my belief if the steel was protected from the intense heat the building would have stood steadfast the same thing with wtc 7
