Josh Allen = MVP by a mile! Rams played this game like it was their superbowl and now are going to get blown out by the 49ers on a short week with not enough rest
When you create a cheat code player in Madden you get Josh Allen. Built like a linebacker, a canon for an arm, reads defenses, runs through people like Mike Alstott.
Stafford out-performed him as crazy as that sounds. Allen is the better athlete, but three tush pushes, DPIs, sus horsecollar and roughing passer penalties really set him up. He didn't complete where it mattered most. I would say Allen will be better than Stafford in the long run but Stafford read the defense much better this game. Allen isn't overrated whatsoever, he gets just as much attention as he should, however I would say that Stafford has always been underrated.
@@The_InfantMalePollockFrancistbf the refs were bad on both sides. The rams got away with a lot of shit that would’ve prevented them from getting in the end zone. Bills really only got help on that final drive but the PI on shakir on the 4th and 15 was the right call good play on Allen for setting that one up. But he definitely had a few misses early on.
@@The_InfantMalePollockFrancis Strafford played a GREAT game and is far more experienced (reading defenses, etc.) than Josh Allen, BUT it's 100% bullsh!t to claim that Staffird somehow "outperformed" Allen. Allen didn't "just" get his TDs on "cheap" "tush pushes" the way most QBs get "rushing TDs;" Allen has had more than his fair shar of LENGTHY scrambles throughout the year (some directly result in TDs too -- KC and SF games most rercently). Allen RAN WILD for 82 yds -- something Strafford didn't do at all, and it's not Allen's "fault" the running TDs originated from just outside the goal line, norshould those TD's be minimized. Typically this year those carries for close-in TDs have gone to James Cook ... but the running game wasn't great against LA Stafford also has superior offensive weapons and receivers than Allen.
@The_InfantMalePollockFrancis was Stafford the one who rushed 3 TDs and passed for 3 TDs?? Didn't out perform Allen NO WAY! The blocked punt didn't help!
@alwaysondeck046 for real they called PI on 2 deep balls for the Rams, 1 shouldn’t have been called on either team was just normal hand checking but they had to replay the down, the other Robinson clearly full arm extended and pushed off the defender and they called PI on the defender because he reacted by “grabbing his elbow” which replay showed he was “holding” it after the push off by 2 fingers. Should’ve been offensive PI if anything for the clear arm lock push off but they called it on Buffalo. And not to mention on a 3rd and 10 they called PI on the defender to a 5 yard pass to Puka, they wouldn’t have came close to getting 1st down and punt so deep in their own zone and it looked like tight coverage but cause he was holding pukas jersey (not pulling it) they threw the flag. But then the bills last drive one of the first passes was a deep ball to Cooper that the defender clearly was pulling his jersey you could see it stretching back and no flag? The refs were so ticky tacky and inconsistent all game with the flags even Brady and the other announcer were baffled by what they called and didn’t call.
Bills defense needed a wake up call, their run d has been atrocious all season. Now they face a Detroit team with a 2 headed dragon waiting for them. Buffalo relies too much on take aways and if their pass rush is non existent a talented QB like a Matt Stafford is going to have a field day which is what happened -specifically on 3rd down. Never the less Go Bills.
It’s better to get that out of the way now and clean up the mistakes instead of the post season. Josh Allen reminds me of his 2021 season towards the end when he just went on a tear. That guy is just absolutely insane right now. Even the haters are starting to realize that this man isn’t human at all and is just a very good player
At 37, a few years ago, after receiving a bone cancer diagnosis, my immediate thought was, “I might not live to see the Bills win a Super Bowl.” After multiple surgeries, radiation, and metastatic disease, you’d expect a shift in perspective… Nope😂 The false-hope of being a Bills fan persists - to this very day - and has only grown stronger! If we don’t win the Super Bowl, it won’t be due to a lack of heart or determination from the team or this city and its fans. The defense clearly has to elevate its level….as in, just be “average,” with a few opportunistic plays from Von, Greg, Ed, CB & co. mixed in, should be enough to give this group a chance. The coaching staff needs to eliminate errors in critical moments. Building a winning culture obviously goes beyond passion and personnel - making intelligent, disciplined, evidence based in-game decisions has to be the minimum standard. They’ve set this standard. No more losing games before the ball is snapped. And a bit of love to Shakir…the most underrated “slot” (he is more than this) receiver in the NFL? ❤ to y’all.
Just great analysis. Love how you guys breakdown games and schemes and players. Bills D line just isn't good enough. They keep throwing money at it but every year at playoff time they are the weak link. They just don't keep linemen off their little LBers and the safeties are last lines 10 yards down the field. The pass rush is meh too. Must be a 2025 focus
The Sneak That Failed: the Bills did not have their “tush push” team on the field. The guy they had was an on the PS until recently & had never participated in this play before. All evidence is that Allen changed the call. The alternative is to believe Brady called that play & thought not having the tush push team would surprise the Rams D who would be expecting a pass. That seems improbable.
The ONLY good thing about McDermott's clock and coaching mismanagement debacle at the end of the game that: burned a needed time out, forced an onside kick, and resulted in too few men on the field to attempt a punt block is that IT OCCURRED NOW and hopefully WON'T BE REPEATED in the playoffs. The Rams were/are a desperate team to make the playoffs, they arenow fully healthy and have IMMENSE talent, and they were playing a Bills team that has several injured starters and which had to travel to the West Coast ... so I was NOT that surprised at all that the Bills lost in a "perfect storm" adversarial game. Given those challenges, the Bills had ZERO latitude for boneheaded coaching mistakes that they now hopefully jave out of their system.
Also, in general, McDermott for being a defensive coach HAS to get his shit together now or he’ll be embarrassed again wasting another Josh Allen playoff masterclass. And boneheaded special teams decisions isn’t new, we all remember the Damar Hamlin make-a-wish fake punt, but it also definitely has to be addressed
@@cartermunderback3947 100% agree @cartermunderback. I for one am MYSTIFIED how McDermott -- an obviously talented defensive coach and who develops DBs well -- can KEEP making so many TERRIBLE game clock mismanagement decisions -- REGULAR SEASON AFTER REGULAR SEASON, and PLAYOFF YEAR AFTER PLAYOFF YEAR !!! If it doesn't stop, it won't "just" be an "embarrassment;" it will be yet another soul-crushing Bills playoff disappointment. I don;t know why our special teams are so substandard either. During the Bills Super Bowl years of the 90s, Special Teams were a "secret weapon" strength of the Bills ... and the late Bruce DeHaven was their master coach. Maybe yesteryear's ace special-teamer Steve Tasker (who SHOULD be in the HoF) could help straighten them out.
@@Sting283 You might be right. It's definitely maddening and frustrating. Yet it's a HARD call to make because he improved the Bills EXPONENTIALLY over the long string of loser coaches we had previously. I would HATE to can McDermott "too soon" ... only to see him go to a rival team and turn into Andy Reid (who was never able to win it all in Philadelphia and was eventually fired ... only to become another Belichick with the Chiefs).
The Bills defense was asleep yesterday and they are usually good at making halftime adjustments and never did. The rams showed up to play yesterday and put on a performance like no other. If they played like that against every other team they definitely would have a way better record. But Josh Allen is just insane right now and he’s just getting better and better. He’s definitely clear cut the MVP winner as of right now. Yes Barkley is having a season for the ages, but Josh Allen is just that dude.
Puka is a superhuman - not bad for a 5th rounder. How many QBs have come back down by 10 in the 4th quarter in both Conference Championship and Super Bowl, no one but Mahomes has actually done that in the highest pressure games.
Wow … so true Chris .. how tough Stafford is …. He’s been beaten up for years ….. that’s one thing I saw in him all these years … his extreme toughness ….can’t believe he’s played for 16 years … after all the beating….
Everybody keeps talking about the timeout after the sneak. The odds of us getting a stop to get the ball back had we saved the timeouts were about as good as our odds of recovering the kick. We couldn't stop them all game long.
The Rams are practically built to beat zone, Stafford out of play action is the best in the business, his instincts, when he has the TIME to act on them, is next level. I can't believe ANYONE would try him on cover zero, the Patriots found out...and so did the Bills.
That pass Shakir dropped, was a bad pass. Granted Josh couldn't clearly see him, but Shakir layed out for that pass, and it was STILL way in front of him. Sure, he "should" have caught if...if he was THREE inches taller.
Not Josh fault at all, rewatch the play and You see at the top of the route shakir paused for a split second as allen was throwing. If he never paused he would have caught that pass in stride without a doubt. Nevertheless go Bills
