Today I will be replacing a line voltage thermostat for a fan coil unit which operates on either hot/chilled water produced by a chiller

Coffee yup,,!but I m in Florida kind of hot here,,,,,listen tnks,,,,,I took me bout an hour to do the same job here due to parking issues 20 min to park 10 min to clear security 10 min for social interaction and probably actually 20 to do the job,,,,,,tnks man,,,,,,where are u by the way,,,,,,,we only have 2 pipe syst, here w electric 5 kw heat, appreciate what u show for our AC community in Florida. Ttyl 😑
Might want some ice with that coffee in FL haha I'm from NY 😎 In the commercial industry all over Manhattan. Find every unit you can imagine in this city, it really gets complicated at times. I'm here for the HVAC/R community 🙂 The 2 pipe system with electric emergency heat is most common when it comes to fan coil units but I do come across large 4 pipe systems
NY prices are pretty insane and between all the filth, it's a bit overrated. I love this city but I do have Florida on my mind. I think an HVAC tech can live a better life out there money wise. Salary vs cost of living
A free Tip we also use a transformer w 24 volt actuator in case we don't have a 115 volts Actuator. It s only a tip that work,,,,,or leave it temporary open as they did in ur video but people complain that the room is freezing.Tnks again.
The video before this one had the exact same setup you speak of. 24 volt actuator that energizes when the transformer is energized by the pipe sensor. Whatever works right? Lol. I hear you with that. Yup, people will complain its either too hot or too cold. These are the most common systems found in hotels and those customers can be very picky but dont blame them after the ridiculous prices they pay here in the city. $400-$2,400/Night so that AC better be working right!
Changing out similar T-stats and this helped out a ton.

Did you use the original pipe sensor/change over switch?
What do you do about the hole that will be visible after you put that new thermostat on? Doesn't seem like the new thermostat will fully cover it like the old one did. Is it your responsibility to patch that up or the homeowner?

Could you tell me how do I change the mode from heat to cold? I live in a condo and the heat was working fine until they changed it to cold this month. Ever since then, it is set at heat and wont throw cold air.
I have the same problem any luck finding out how to change it please message back
Need ask Bldg Engineers to see if they back on Cool or Heat
How do you make them to be compatible with the new nest systems
