SDS Plus Drill Bit Chuck Adapter to Convert Rotary Hammer into Drill Driver

- With this SDS Plus drill bit chuck adapter you can transform your rotary hammer tool into a drill driver, ready to penetrate materials like wood, steel and plastic.
The smallest drill bit this SDS Plus chuck adapter can hold is 1.5mm ~ 0.059inch, and the biggest drill bit is 13mm ~ 0.511inch. You can use even bigger drill bits, as long as they have smaller base, just like I demonstrate in the video.
The kit comes in three pieces - the chuck itself; an SDS adapter, which screws-in the chuck; and a key, which is used to tighten the hold of the drill bits. Keep in mind that the screw, which is used to connect the SDS plus adapter to the drill chuck, has to be screwed in counterclockwise.
For best results when drilling into wood and steel using this chuck adapter, your rotary hammer needs to have a "drill only" option, just like my makita rotary hammer, which I used in the video.

I really liked how the chuck adapter was used to convert the rotary hammer into a drill driver. I really liked the technique.
Thanks for showing me how to use an SDS Plus Drill Bit Chuck Adapter. Now I feel like I have twice as many tools for the price of just an adapter.
One can never have too many tools ;)
amazing demonstration for the SDS Plus man, now my Rotary Hammer will be much more usful. thank you for your work.
Should have bought this months ago! Thanks for including the link, just picked one up!
This looks great, I have a Bosch rotary hammer that I'd like to get more use out of, so will definitely consider the SDS Plus adapter to attach drill bits.
Yep, nice machines deserve nice accessories.
I use one on an old rotary hammer , to mix tile glue and grout ,
The powerful motor on the hammer drill with the mixing drill bit , works better than the mixing drills they try and sell you in the tile shops
Good simple video
Better to understand
How well does it do mixing mud and paint
I got this adapter along with my SDS plus rotary hammer. But I still prefer SDS plus over this one, it gets wobbly and tends to break bits.
This is SDS Plus as well.
Review The Cheapest but what’s the point it still holds the bit using three jaws. SDS plus is more stable.
The purpose of this chuck is so your sds rotary drill can use standard drill bits for wood and metal as well as hole saws etc. it’s not to be used in hammer mode. Those buts are cheaper and easier to acquire. I bought one so I could drill wood and steel work. It’s essentially turns your sds into a standard drill. My Milwaukee M12 sds rotary is the only drill I need now.
Can we use 26 mm wood drill bit?
I don't see the purpose of using this tool for anything other than mixing. Could somebody point out how I'm technically wrong on this since I obviously don't understand?
Does it work in 600 watt 20mm hammer drill
It works with everything that has an SDS Plus attachment system.
Can you please tell me what adapter allows me to fit SDS drill bits into a normal drill chuck?
Liked the fact that there is no audible narrative. I prefer just watching how you the adapter is used. Very clear and informative and compatible with a number of drill bits. Thank you for this useful vid.
I am glad to hear your feedback and I am happy that you like my format.
@@reviewthecheapestdo u need a certain size for the drill that u have?
Is there an adapter that is opposite, so SDS bits fit into a standard drill chuck ?
The SDS bits should fit in a standard chuck without an adapter.
@@reviewthecheapest Yes they fit but have a tendency to fall out of the chuck since the barrel is round and not hex on cordless drills.
@@reviewthecheapest they don’t stay in easily. Get loose quick
I have an old AEG 220V sds with the spline shank and an adapter cord to go to 120v but spline shanks are pricey and i usually don't need that big.. i got an sds spline to sds plus adapter but i rarely need a hammer drill or sds as a home owner.
I do have a corded makita regular hammer drill and my m12 hammer drill will do bits up to 1/2 on softer material like brick and concrete block.
I recently got a killer deal on an amazon promotion for a Vevor sds plus cordless hammer drill for $39.99 with 2 4amp hour batteries. Haven't tried it yet and a cordless sds with 2 batteries is insane. It would either have to be a scam or completely shit but it came in, it has weight to it and the batteries work.
Again i dont drill masonry often but between my cordless hammer deill. The vevor sds and my AEG corded rotory hammer drill im covered..
I dont need an adapter for this because i own a few cordless drills and IF i need to bore larger holes a lot of larger wood bits come in a hex shank.
I get the product demo but there's no reason to buy a drill chuck adapter for an sds unless you have an sds and IF you have an sds more than likely you have a drill.
Just make sure to switch to drill only (no hammer action), otherwise the chuck breaks really quickly.
感謝分享,我是使用了impact wrench drill bit chuck adapter,兩者很像,功能是一樣的!
This is a great option if you're too cheap to by a normal drill and only have and sds..
I want one soooo bad I have a brand new hp brushless drill an an hp brushless rotary hammer an instead of buying a hammer drill to use the 1000 Mason bits I already have I could buy this an just use my rotary hammer an save from needing a redundant tool
Screw is tightening counterclockwise because to keep the chuck tight during reverse rotation.
Good video, but it would have been nice if you compared it to a regular drill
Just a little side note here. Tighten the sds plus chuck to the adjustable three-jaw chuck using a wrench as tight as you can by holding the adjustable chuck on vice grip or using lock plyer. Then screw in the small screw, the small screw only to prevent the sds chuck from unfasten by vibration as the thread is opposite from the sds chuck thread.
Yes , that's important.
Broke after 20 holes, couldn't withstand the force of my drill
should not be used with hammer function
I was also trying to tighten screw clockwise and thought I was really stupid, until I saw the video. Thank you very much!
Thanks for this video, now I know that the chuck I bought was meant to fit for the hammer drill. I thought I bought a wrong chuck to replace my regular electric drill 😃
I have done similar thing, but my Chuck wobbles like crazy, what's the possible reason....?
Como cuánto cuesta un broquero
This explanation gave me a very good idea because I started caring about this equipment, you are awesome sir
Glad I could help
is this doable in reverse I need a normal drill straight shank converter to a sds so I don't need to buy a new drill
You can try inserting the SDS drill into the normal chuck. Even though the SDS drill has cuts on it, it's shape is still round.
@@reviewthecheapest i did as you said an it actually worked spun a little every now an then made it a touch slower but hay saved myself the price of a new drill and got the job done xd thankyou
This was very helpful. I bought a cheap adapter branded as “ Silverline” which seems to be the house brand of Toolstation in Europe. Looks like they come from same OEM because it’s identical
Cuanto te costó
Can we use this chuck for hammer drilling as well?
I want to go the exact opposite....keyed chuck to SDS??????????
Great thanks just what i needed!
Prise kya h es shet ka tiger 26mm hammer m kon sa lgega
Does it will work on DeWalt d25133k 800watt
Very informative. Thank you.
I like that hammer sound
This adapter can fit in with different size drill bit, it definitely is a very helpful tool for doing handiwork.
How do you remove it from drill?
Very technical. Especially the bigger drill bite again a smaller base aspect. This will definitely come in handy some day. Thanks.
Which hammer Drill machine u using .. please reply
Hi there, I am using Makita BHR202.
Very nice converter
Great information. Thanks
i try the drill driver in my walls and its amazing, easy and simple, thanks.
this make things much easier instead of have to be hammering walls etc and could possibly damage the wall the drill save time and from repairing walls
I have to add this SDS Plus Drill to my tool box. Should really help with my home fix it jobs.
The adapter is certainly very useful for such projects.
is there on sale the opposite of this? meaning from regular circular bit to sds chuck? and if so, can you please tell where could I buy it? thanks a lot
You can just try using the SDS plus bits on the normal drill. It should work, since the bits are round.
@@reviewthecheapest Thanks, I've tried, but it's quite difficult, but ok, I am convinced there is no adaptor from normal to SDS. The opposite there are tons of adaptors on sale... LOL Thanks for your attention
@@PauloMurteira_MassagemPro That's because sds bits are made specifically for hammering. A regular hammer drill driver doesn't really deliver enough impact for such adapter to be useful.
