Been there, done that!🤣 With a 5 & 6 year old, in my inlaws Nissan & A-frame caravan. We had a great time. Sale (Vic.) to Darwin. Inlaws flew up & drove it back. Great reminders, thank you.

Wow, that's a great experience for your kids. We have many memories of when our kids were younger and we went on road trips. Occasionally they still join us today.

Another great video would love to do the Oodnadatta track again, we did it 12 months ago in a day from Marla, it wasn't as green back then but still fantastic scenery. Keep the vids coming. Cheers Darryn.

Yeah it's a pretty fascinating place with a lot of history. This is our second time, but first time towing a caravan.

Those bloody flies. Love it “Rust In Peace”!
Great editing on this video ❤ love the sculptures. They could do a better job at preserving the mosque 😂
    Love abandoned house 🏚 History.

Yes there is a yacht club and yes they have raced yachts there and there is a reason why it is built that high above the surrounding land! 😄 The lake fills every few years and they often get a good season of racing in before the lake drains away. Just shows that in the bush it pays to be proactive and ready because once the event begins there isn't time to start building-works.

Amazing setup mate. looks like you got the timing right for the track as its mostly dry good to see the X5 out of its normal Environment

Thanks Philpy1979, still had a few soft spots but nothing too serious. The x5, obviously not a 4wd, but can do a lot more than most people would dare. 😃👍

@@antonio_travels ahh ok. Yes the 30d is a solid car. The new ones even have an off road option that has suspension that offers a lift for better clearances and under body protection. Also very economical even when towing.
Do you use Instagram or fb for your UA-cam channel as well ??

@@philby1979 didn't know that about the newer ones. Mine is the SD twin turbo, tows easily and economy is great.

@@antonio_travels nice ours is the 2022 30d msport with factory tow package. Only issue is I want to get on some of the places you have in your videos. Just need to find some 19” rims so I can get some AT tyres as I don’t think there are ones that will fit the 21” rims also to get larger side wall to run lower pressures
We have a Cub Camper that we just got to get away camping as well.

@@philby1979 nice. Yeah you'll need the sidewall and a sturdier tyre. Btw the insta is

I love the Oodnadatta track. I clearly missed a couple of stops in comparison. I may have to go back again.

Hi Antonio, what wheels and tyres are you running in the X5. I have almost identical setup, with 20” wheels and low profile tyres. Thinking for outback use 18” wheels with higher profile rubber would be better

    • @antonio_travels

Hi Steve, running 18" with 255/55R18.

@@antonio_travels thanks. I have already purchased a set of the genuine 18” rims (same as yours). Now I’ll get similar AT rubber for them. I assume the corrugations on the track were not an issue with those tyres and lower pressure

Naah your not crazy, I travelled the track in 1966 and 1967 in a 1962 Holden EK, 1968 in a Landrover, 1969 Austin 1800, make sure you got Aeroguard, the flies are bad.
