I love to watch Lay on stage. He is the King of Stage. He is so stunning. I am in love with all his stage performances be it a party show, TV shows, an annual event in China or his concert stages. He never stops giving surprises. That is how talented he is.

I recommend you checking out street dance of china season 3 and 4 whether doing a reaction or just enjoy on your own, because Lay was slaying in that show with his krumping and the show includes so many badass dancers around the world especially in season 4 :D flying apsaras and veil choreos were all made by choreographers he met through that show, I believe you can find the sub version on youtube. He is a total different person when he is off stage. Cute, funny and humble. But once he start performing, he is like a beast. Checkout his previous concert stages, they are remarkable.
A couple of the female dancers in the traditional dance section were actually students training in traditional dance from performing arts colleges. The things this man does is really awesome, blending and emphasizing all these different dance forms. Awesome reaction, don’t worry we all be pausing and geeking out.

Hi, The height of Chinese dance was during the Tang Dynasty and the establishment of the trade and cultural exchange through the Silk Road. Many dances from inside & outside the country were documented in the Ten Books of Song. Lay's two EPs (East & West) documents a journey down the Silk Road, so the dances will be from those influence. We use the term 西域 to describe this kind of Chinese history with Western Region influence (Indian, persian, arabian, egyptian etc) In East's "Flying Apsaras", the traditional dance used was from Dunhuang. Dunhuang is at the crossroad of the Yumen pass of the Silk Road. The dance is realized from the extensive Buddhist cave carvings in the area, characterized by the flex feet, hand gestures and reversed pipa. In West's "Veil", we enter the Tarim Basin (now Xinjiang) area of the Silk Road. People tend to think of China as Han ethnicity, but China has 56 recognized ethnic minorities, so there are 56 ethnic dances that are taught. From the movements of the veiled girls (head mvt, drop step, arm placement), I would like to say these are the foundations of Uyghur Xinjiang dance (维吾尔新疆舞蹈）. However, there are some of the opinion that this the Eagle Dance of the Tajik people (塔吉克族鹰舞 ) because of the reference to totems in the Chinese lyrics. Since supposed "7 Veils dance" is supposedly of middle eastern and Babylon origins, it would come from the same area of influence.
