My brother did btech from a a typical "3rd tear" engineering college in computer science, he earns 43 lpa now, 2.5 lakhs in hand per month and he started with 4 lpa package 7 years ago. One of my friend who did btech in civil from IIT kanpur around the same time is taking 20 lpa CTC. So don't you worry about IIT, sab iitian bhi nahi kama rahe aur jo iitian nahi hai vo bhi kama rahe hai only if they are from cs, it, or ece. Only if if you learn coding or do these branch you'll earn good money otherwise it will be okay money. So don't worry about IIT, if you get through its well and good if not then there are nit's, iiit's, many good government engineering colleges and private colleges. Don't worry at all about the tag because when you're 25 nobody will care what you did if you won't be earning good, parents won't say anything but they will feel that you're not upto the mark. So think only about getting into these aforementioned branches in decent colleges. And don't worry everything sorts out this I'm saying as I've a little more experience than you
