This could be the case on a small scale. Dung beetles have evolved alongside large mammals, however with the human population approaching 8 billion there is way too much waste for dung beetles to handle.

In my village some ticks travel on the back of the dung beetle called as hitchhicking.
If we make a colony on Mars, we will need to bring dung beetles with us. For waste management.
