Gavin, thank you for all the work that you put into this for such detailed processes and procedures to place the 17000 in auto start up mode and backup mode.
GAVIN, THANKS! 1. THIS GENMAX PORTABLE WITH TWO WIRE AUTO START/STOP WILL BE GREAT FOR HOME ENERY STORAGE SYSTEMS! 2. WE DON’T HAVE TO GET A PERMIT TO INSTALL LIKE THE PERMANENT STANDBY GENERATORS! 3. WHEN GENMAX MAKES THIS 17,000 kw TRI FUEL & FUEL INJECTION IT WOULD BE THE PREFERRED PORTABLE HOME SOLAR BACKUP GENERATOR!
I wonder how readily a retrofit could be done to make this 2 wire system work on the genmax 10500. I'd bought it last year for the ATS that was soon to be released, but now it's unclear if that version will ever be available. A standard 2 wire system makes so much sense since it's more universally compatible with battery backup systems like this.
Nah, dual fuel on this class of generator is mostly marketing, and not worth it for all but the tiniest subset of users. To run a 14kw generator at full tilt, it needs around 250,000btu/hr. In 40F temps, when full, a 100lb propane tank can provide 277,000btu/h, at 90%, it can only make 247,000. At 0F, the smallest tank that will run this generator at 50% full is a 250 gallon tank. and by 30% full, that tank is not able to vaporize fast enough. If you own a 250 gallon+ above ground tank, ask your propane fill company if they're okay with servicing and filling the tank with a portable generator connector on your loop. The answer is almost always no.
@@JohnCillian yeah, they (Duromax) has the 16000 dual fuel, the biggest difference is that Duromax has an ATS port versus the Genmax here having the sleep mode with auto start function. Duromax said on their Facebook page that their tri fuel should be out by winter.
Great video but can you explain or make a video of the connections of which 2 pins of the generator you used to connect it to your 6000XP Inverter for automatic start? Thanks in advance
It seems like I will need to "trim/manicure" my existing ATS cable I have from GenMax for my 10500 that I have permanently mounted outside (Pics to come next month). But in doing that what two wires (usually color combinations) would I need to use to make that existing cable useful for a setup like this?
First generator that puts the AGS connection right on the front panel. Are there any other generators like this? Reason asking is this generator is way overkill for my needs.
If this was going to be a long term solution, the connector is commonly available, and there's also a 12v direct connection pin to the battery that should be used to maintain the battery if it's sitting on standby. The generator will kill its battery after 48 hours or so on standby.
This isn’t a long-term solution and I don’t think anyone can make that claim that the battery will die in 48 hours a simple solar panel maintenance charger will take care of that problem
What’s the point, since the generator isn’t weatherproof/waterproof and is not designed to be left exposed to the elements 24/7? Some will reply that they will design and build a weatherproof enclosure…….but how realistic is that for the average consumer who’s looking for a reliable standby generator solution?

Thanks for sharing, most people don’t realize how much work it takes to make a video. I appreciate you watching
Thanks finally someone make a video about generator start, not even signature solar says anything with showing the process,, thank you for the video
You’re welcome

Will definitely hold off for their Dual Fuel Version.

Nice unit. Duromax better get the ball rolling, can't wait to see what features their next unit has.
Thanks for another great video.
Duromax released a similar generator a year ago and it is dual fuel. They will release a trifuel by the end of the year.

Another great video that thing is a beast
Another great video 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Wonderful video many people are looking for this video. Thank you very much Gavin! Good job!!!
Thanks 😊
Thanks again for making this video. Do you know if any other Genmax generator have this option. I am going to install a EG4 12P with this generator
This is the only one so far
Can you show where you wired the 2 dry contact wires into the inverter?
Great video but can you explain or make a video of the connections of which 2 pins of the generator you used to connect it to your 6000XP Inverter for automatic start? Thanks in advance
What other generators have a two wire automatic start switch?
The only other Generator I know of is the aims inverter generator

I haven’t seen the seven pin ATS work in a start / stop configuration with a two wire.
Could you not do the same thing with the Genmax 7250iedc using the 7pin ats connector pins 2/3?
Not really the 7 pin was designed to work with the transfer switch ATS
@@GeneratorReviews any idea where to get one?
Is there a reason the inverter was only pulling 2900w?
I didn’t set the EG4 to charge at max wattage
Can you combine the two fifty amp outlets into one for 100amps?
Unfortunately, that’s not possible
Whats a good 50 amp surge protector adapter dog bone. To connect to duromax xp13000eh. To protect electronics in home

Hey would you ship to the Caribbean
Which island are you from?
Am from Saint Vincent and the grenadines
Ya man!
How many cist of this Genrator,,?,
What are you asking?

At the moment, this is the only one that does.

Beastly!
1st. 😊
I'm still on the hunt for a 120 volt generator that can autostart with the chargeverters 🤔
Yes it can
@GeneratorReviews which 120v generator has the dry contact inputs for the chargeverter to work with?
Whats their warranty? Id assume nonexistent being a Chinese manufacturer. But id like to be wrong.
One year warranty
Rs.

It’s nice to have options
